Sanded bevel on wrong side of ailerons... what now?

On my Sig Somethin Extra I sanded the wrong side of the aileron when making a bevel. DOH!!! What should I do now? Call Sig and get another aileron sheet or can I fix it?

Thanks for the help

Your hobby shop should carry aileron stock.

The SSE has a laser cut aileron ... 4 pieces total.

I would sand the other one to match and just have tappered trailing edges.

Ya that would work, but first I would like to know if there is another way I could fix it before resorting to that. I don't think filler putty will solve this problem. LOL :p

Sand it flat, and sand the other to be an exact match. You shouldn't be losing more than 1/4" off the back of the aileron. You won't miss it when you fly, roll rate on high rates is unbelievable with that plane.

cut off back end & glue a strip of balsa on to make it look like the good one.

Cut it so you take 1/4 inch off total, then glue on a piece of 1/4 inch balsa which is large enough that you can sand the shape to the top and bottom surface. Then re-shape the leading edge so it is right. Will be as good as new. Glue the 1/4 inch on with thick CA. You will be the only one that knows there was a problem.

I would just complete the bevel into a nice taper to the Trailing edge. Hinge and bevel the front side, and your good to go. I have the looks of a squared of trailing edge.
