RE: Caliber .30 setup
Hello if you look at the Radius Plate arm you will see three marks the lower being 0 Degrees the middle 6 and the upper around 10. you'll see this in box 17 of your manual. I was told by my instructor this is a good starting pitch curve for beginners but to start with -2 degrees pitch instead of 0 so you can bring the Heli back down if the wind picks up and the heli starts floating around. Hope this helps some

Does anybody have a picture of the main rotor, I have left over parts and shouldnt, also did you receive a throttle control from the servo to the engine.
Thanks

RE: Caliber .30 setup
Hey fellow Calibre 30 pilots
I got a small problem with drifting to the left. On take-off about an 1" or so off the ground I start to drift left even when applying a touch of right aileron.
I have tried to reduce my gyro to about 68/100 and that keeps the tail straight with nose without any waver, but the heli still drifts to the left. I've adjusted the sub trims of aileron to the right a few clicks , but still drifts left.
ANy ideas on to correct this drifting to the left? It doesn't drift very fast or tip to the left but gradually keeps going to the left even with right aileron inputs from my TX.
Here's some photos and my website for other pictures

Your not matching what your saying as per the photos, the photos seems to me that you have a tail yaw, meaning the tail is drifting either left or right, from the pics it seems like a right yaw, from the TR (Tail Rotor).
If thats the case then you have your gyro setup up incorrectly or possibly the servo placement on the tail is not located correctly. In the manual of the cal30 it says to keep the TR arm 90 degrees, what you want to do is have it slighlty off, you should have the TR with a small amount of angle in them to counter the MR (Main rotor blades force).
I dont know what gyro your running but, most importantly what you wanna do is have the servo mount location and the tail rotor setup with some pitch, without letting the gyro work the TR for MR thrust compensation.
Once you have setup the heli to have a perfect hover without any tail yaw, work your gyro (Set it up). Depending on your gyro manual, make sure you that you understand that the gyro's job is to hold the helicopters direction only and not compensate for any bad TR setup. You can check this bu foreward flight (FF), if the heli has any tail swinging, you see the heli tails going left and right as you are moving foreward, increase or lower your gyro rate until the TR wagging stops.
For example my cal30 is setup with 68% in heading hold am running a G490T the USA equivalent is a G500T.
The explanation above is for Tail Rotor (TR) yaw issues.
Now if your problem is related to the heli tilting left and right standing from behind the heli, the term you are refferring to is roll, it rolls to the left and rolls to the right, like an airplane roll when you hit the ailerons left or right.
The problem can be related to several factors, your servos are not zeroed when you installed and setup the heli, your servo arms should travel equally, collectively, watch the servo arms and swash plate when you move the throttle stick, do they move collectively, does one servo move slower then the other, are the servo arms at equal length meaning all in the same servo holes, the pushrods are factory set unless your running modified push arms.
The above point refers to a EMS setup and not an MMS setup, I strongly advise you to have the cal30 setup as EMS and not MMS, the MMS has alot of play and not very forgiving to new fliers, thats just my opnion.
Yourr post is very brief and not detailed, Whats your radio and setup on the heli, pitch etc it will help to solve the problem to a certain extent, i would strongly recommend that you check out a local club to help you with the heli setup if your new to this.
Or you going to be posting alot to get the heli setup up right.
Also one more thing, dont fly the heli without the cover, take the time to install it it will save your equipement incase of a crash, I learnt it the hard way.

RE: Caliber .30 setup
BTW, you made a good choice by choosing the cal30 for a first heli, also here's another forumn who are very specialised in helicopters, thats where I learnt how to setup my cal30, just scroll down the first page till you see kyosho and read up on previous posts and setups, they are very helpful.

RE: Caliber .30 setup
rule of thumb for the cal which i set mine on is.....low=-2 deg hover or mid stick 6 deg full throttle 9 degrees you are better setting this via a pitch guage, as for throttle just use a standard curve
