Default Model 100+ Help

Hello everybody. I have a problem with my model 100+ not having enough power. It has the v-maxx 6 Norvel engine it it and I am using two 6 pitch blade grips. At full throttle, it will only get about 6 inches off the ground and slide around a little bit. When you first start it up, it has more power. But as soon as it warms up (about 30 seconds of flight) it doesn't even have enough power to lift the helicopter off the ground. It runs well and sounds good and I have tried tuning it every way I can think of. It just does not have enough power. When I first got the helicopter (it was used and I fixed it up) it had enough power to hover, but it never was all that powerful. It seems the more that I ran it, the less power it had. What do you think the problem is? Is the engine just worn out? I don't know that I want to get the v-maxx 7 after hearing all the problems everybody has had with the connecting rod breaking only a few tanks into break-in. Do you know if Norvel has fixed this problem? Those of you who have tried a .12 car engine, how does it work and do you have any pictures of how you modified the helicopter to use it? I really like the helicopter itself, and it does fly well, but it is very frustrating when the engine just won't run right. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Elijah

Default RE: Model 100+ Help

Was in the same boat you are.

Sounds like you got the v-6 wows.
The v-7 is the worst engine i have ever owned, it is extremely unreliable
The .12 car conversion was not as easy as it sounds
Try contacting matt at http://www.ballistictechnology.com/ He might make you a custom carbonfiber crutch for your car engine and custom gearing system.
But, I converted to electric and never looked back.

Good Luck
