Sorry I'm a little late here but another suggestion is to fiberglass the inside of your next canopy. I do this on powered plane cowls and wheel pants. Use a light fiberglass cloth and lay it out on the inside of the fuse. I use thin CA, a little at a time, and smooth out the wet area with a finger (I use rubber type gloves).
