Default Vmax7 with a vmax6 plug

Yesterday I burnt out my vmax 7 glow plug. I was recently at the Hobby center and they didnt have any. I had quite a few Vmax 6 plugs laying around. I took my burnt out vmax 7 plug and cut the flat bottom off. I sanded it down to the thickness of about four or five washers. I stuck it into the head of the Vmax7 and I put a vmax6 plug on top of that. Put the heat sink head back on and tried to fire it up. Guess what It worked!!!!!!! It ran rich and it was enough power to fly my heli. Tomorrow Im going to sand my new adapter down to the thickness of about three washers to increase my power. Its a fix until I can get ahold of a Vmax7 plug.
It worked !!! Good golly Mrs Molly!!! Next time If I go to the hobby center and they are out of the vmax7 plug, I can get a Vmax6 plug. Just a small money(actually time) saving tip for those who are interested. Ill post some pics later tonight if I have the chance. I tried the plug adapter thing I found on the internet to use the standard (cheaper) glow plugs but that didnt work That was with the Vmax 6 engine. Now that Im flying with the Vmax7, I may try to give it another go at it(mabey).

It works. Ive sanded down the vmax 7 plug base you can see it on the far left. It looks like a washer. Thats the vmax6 plug in the pic. I use this with one or two copper washers under the plug.

Is there any other way to run a 6 plug in a 7? and where did you find info on the 6 adapter you were talking about, it would be so nice to use a standard plug in the 7 rather than forking 6.99 each (well local thats the rip off charge) any thoughts?
