For you LMH fliers with tachs out there, what max head speed are you able to achieve? I run the Vmax6 on 30% and get about 2000-2050 wide open on the ground with a pair of 6 pitch grips. I measure this by sliding a 2X4 under the skids and opening the throttle up. My short lived stint with the Big Mig 0.61 yielded 2200-2300rpm, for a couple of flights. Performance was defiantly better, but the engine ended up throwing a rod.

I am especially interested to see what RPM’s the electric guys and the Vmax7 are turning. I know the manual lists a max 2000rpm safe head speed, but it seems to me that 2000 rpm at the motors top end yields just barely passable performance. I have had no trouble up to 2300. How high have you spun things up?

Default Bump...

Come on, there have to be some people out there who have tachs and know their head speed!

Hey Spiro. My Hacker powered Corona with stock pinion and #4 grips on both main blades tachs at 1750-1800 rpm at hover.
