I am hopelessly addicted......... I have 40 series wheels, low profile 40's tires, alum shock bushings, aluminum hexes, pro-line body, MIP CVD's in back, MIP axles in front, stiffer springs, alum shock towers and chassis braces on order and Ti shock shafts. want to get threaded shock bodies and reservoir caps when they become available. Any thing I am missing???? suggestions???

I have the clutch and can pos a picture of it if you like. I have all Rulon shoes but have some Carbon. LSTCrAzy pointed me to that setup site so now I want to try 2 Rulon and 2 Carbon shoes. I have about half a gallon with this setup and I have been very impressed with it. Because I did not follow the directions or know about the setup site I spent more time dialing it in then I had to but I also got very familiar with how tunable it is.

I have diff cases also, (see, I have so much I cant remember unless someone else reminds me).
23mm hexes require 23mm wheels, not gonna go that route due to so many sets of wheels I already have.

Then there's gears,
Low stock is 18/70
High stock is 25/63
optional high is 22/66
optional high is 24/64, both of these options are lower than the stock high gear so now what????

Any body have an SH.28 now, I am sure it does have more torque, but does it at least rev as good as the mach engine since the gears are what they are and the only gearing option is down.

Man, I lucked out I busted out one of my 40 series wheels and just sent them in and they are going to replace them with the 23mm wheels and new tires. All I had to do was pay for the adaptors. The kicker is my best racing tires are at proline and the told me it would take 2 to 3 weeks. Bummer.

There is one spring under the nut you turn it in and out to adjust the point where it hooks up (This is when I first put it on and the nut is too tight). The shoes in the picture are Rulon but I have a set of Carbons and Teflon.

I think I have gained duribility and I know I have gained adjustability.

Installed with a set of CNR brakes that I received today. I am really impressed with the brakes so far $20 shipped and I ordered on Sunday got them today.




Make sure you have some shims!! I had to use a couple with this setup.

I put them under the piece that holds the shoes.

If I understand you correctly you are putting these shims it there to push the clutchbell out some to align better with the spur gears. Is this correct?

Also it is a good idea to have the shims in general for the aligment of everything in the clutch/bell/spur area. I'm sure that and the aluminum cover are the reason my gears look like that after 3 gallons of 30% Rocket Science.
