Default Forward only tranny gear ratio?

For those who have it,did you notice any change in power?More bottom or top end?I'm not 100% sure but it seems like it winds up faster but the same topend speed.Did anyone switch out the internal gears for more topend?

It should spool up faster and it does, you removed over 5 ounces of rotating mass. Didn't flip the gears but it sure looks tempting. That might make the rollout with Proline tires close to what it was with the stock tires.

GEAR UP
When installing the forward-only kit in your LST tranny housing, you can switch the positions of the upper and lower gears. This will lower the tranny ratio, which will increase the truck’s top speed. All you have to do is swap the gears on the shafts and slightly grind away part of the top of the tranny case to make room for the now taller upper gear.

I was going to origionally but with the taller brt's I left it alone.I ordered some pythons which will lower the ratio so I might switch out.

The gears are only different by a single tooth but every little bit helps.

Does this top in gain cause a lose in the low end, mainly on the takeoff? Is it only beneficial on long straights?
