Oh Lordy, I don't even know why I'm responding to this thread.
I'm 50 but don't let that fool ya. I ride motorcycles, jet skis and can water ski better than anybody I know personally. I've been playing with Nitro toys since I was 10 and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

Snoop I don't know about the 50's but we had Nitro in the 60's.
My frist nitro car was no wheel drive I mounted a plane engine W/Prop to a car. and no brakes you ether ran out of gas or hit a wall to stop it . Steering wasn't so good either home made all the way out of plane and model car parts. I was somewhere between 12 and 14. I had RC planes first at around 10. At that time you built them no RTF or RTR.
