It will depend on who does the mod, and what specifically you want. A mild mod might run around $50 US, while an extreme mod could cost upwards of $125 + US.

Yes, the Sportswerks carb should fit a mach .28.

Always try to use the stock flywheel from whatever vehicle you are putting a new engine in.

I have only owned the LRP out of the three you list, and I believe it is a very fine mill. One of the best I have owned.

I modded that Sure Fire .32 ....and I have horrible dremeling skills...but it runs damn strong..and idles like a champ...I did my own mods on a cheap motor(SureFire) that I could easily get new piston and sleeves for...

those Italian engines are exspensive and very hard to get parts...as in...you'll most likely not be able to go to the LHS for a piston and sleeve or carb parts for those engines(Picco/Collari/Novarossi)

certain modders specialize in certain motors...for example...Jim Hottinger knows NovaRossi's...RBMods...knows RB motors(hince the name)...but they both can decently mod any motor..

TNT mods is another company...

had Amain hobbies not sell the hotmod Novarossi...I would not have had a modded engine...I probably wouldn't go through the process of getting one modded...if I had to have a modded engine...I would have probably done the mods myself...

no...you don't touch the piston or the inner liner of the sleeve...just the outside and the crank...just be aware that you can render your engine useless very easily..by doing it..

all you need is a dremel...try to search for a post by JEFX on port and polishing a Mach....that is where I started...

the main idea(I think) is to channel fuel to the carb side of the engine...away from the exhaust port...
you can see how this one was firing...the exhaust side of the engine is at the top of the picture

The RB in RB mods stands for Rick Brake - the owner. And the RB motors are all made by Novarossi!

I stand corrected...

I thought RB was a french company???

I also thought that it was funny how they censor it out....if you try to type "rbmods" in RB's forum...

Here's a link to help with info.

https://rbmods.net/rbshop/

After owning a few modded engines over the years, I believe they good for nothing but bragging rights (not saying there's anything wrong with that). Few drivers could ever take advantage of the small increase in power and if you only bash, there are better things to spend money on. I've run a modded RB C5 and Novarossi 528 and the engines are so powerful in stock form, on the wild side in some applications, that it's hard to see what improvements your money has made. I say this having run stock and modded RB and Novarossi mills over the years and could easily justify spending the money on something else.

As said, if you don't know what you're doing, you can render an engine useless if you decide to try yourself.

I would exspect that kind of thought/comment from someone that has the best of the best....fact is...a Nova in stock form is aggressive...it IS modded compared to the laim ports of a generic motor..
the mods I did on the SF motors made a drastic difference...I have never had an engine run that good...as far as ...temps...idle...ease of startup...startup when hot...and of course...power

it's easier to say mods are pointless when you bump up to the high dollar mills(RB and NovaRossi)...and it IS bragging rights...although i don't brag too much...I'm just a power junky like alot of others...

I totally agree Dnell. I have a modded N528XRS that is only broken in. I run a LRP .28 though, it has more than enough power for me!

Dawg - The RB Concepts engines are drawn up (probably by Rody Roem himself) and then Novarossi makes whatever is needed. I'd guess the parts are shipped en masse to France where a very small workforce puts them together and ships them out. Some of them are modded by Rody prior to being boxed up.

They aren't considered "modded" when you buy them...that's just how they come....they are very aggressivly ported....especially when compared to cheaper generic motors....
but because of the work involved in them...craftmenship...quality material...and have them imported to the US....all are reasons why they cost so much...as well as them being about the most powerful engines in almost every class/size...
they are commonly refered to the Ferrari of nitro engines...in this case...you pay for performance/quality...

of course....I've heard nothing but good stuff about the LRP in terms of performance for price...I'll be getting a Spec3 if they ever become available...

Ok well bad news......[:@] I was running the lst earlier full throttled into the curb......[:@]

Looks like I will need a new gas tank, new pipe/manifold, and something is wrong with the back wheels. When you try to turn them they just lock up and everything seems to be turning right, and the front wheels turn fine except a little bit of grinding sound.

Will this pipe/manifold work?

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/6023

I can just find a stock gas tank with no problems hopefully.

ALSO........

Whats a site that sells those pinions you were talking about a page back? Something like 8man's pinions.
