friend selling LST
Yesterday I was talking to my neighbor, he has a bunch of cars and trucks. Told him my next truck would prolly be an Aftershock, and he told me to hold out on that cause he might sell me his LST. He only ran it one day (break-in), and we all know that break-in plus a tank or 2 still isn't "fully broke in". So this thing is still practically brand new. What should I offer him? he got it last fall before winter hit.

RE: friend selling LST
howd the break in go?
entirely possible he destroyed the 160$ motor already.
letting it sit 6 months after that would be another notch against it if it wasnt well oiled.

no, this guy is a nitro guru. he hasn't had time for any rc. only upgrade was the bigger tank. this is the kinda guy that even keeps the boxes when he buys them. he bought the lst, a revo, Lightening stadium pro-r, 2 Mini LST's, Yamaha YZF450, and a chevy S-10 all from September through december. lol he just don't have time for it all.

RE: friend selling LST
Id offer 350 if your confident he did a good job breaking it in.
its obviously worth the same amount as the aftershock since it basicly is an aftershock with a better radio and reverse. but just the same; why not try 350 and go as high as 400 if he wont take 350.

RE: friend selling LST
Before you make him an offer try to get him to tell you what he wants for it.
There's no telling, he may only want $300 - or less - for a neighbor???????
My point is, before you commit to a price make sure you're not giving money away.

I agree with Dave, just let him tell you what he wants and go from there. But like Bauerbach said, I'd also pay as much as $400 for it. Hope he isn't reading this for your sake!!! LOL

RE: friend selling LST
ok just talked to him and he figured up all his costs with it and was about $640. he is wanting to keep the radio to put on his Jato. he wants to stick pretty firm on the $400 (minus radio price). I have a Spektrum DX3, so i have radio coverage, dunno how well it has been working on LST's though. I know it is in great shape, and the break-in was flawless.

RE: friend selling LST
I picked up a super sweet LST2 (W/O radio) with a FOC and sway bar kit installed for 355.00 shipped to my door from a member over at lstcentral... (thanks elite!) he also included a few new spare parts..
I wouldnt pay more than 350.00 for a used stock LST1... That just my .02

RE: friend selling LST
I see LST1's on the bay go for around $250-$285.00 sometimes.
Sell the radio gear, all arms, knuckles, CVD's and other LST1 junk and the Engine and you have got maybe $50.00 into the parts......then.....
Buy the LST2 upgrade kit for like $140.00
And a LRP Spec 3 for like $150-$170.00
Thats right around $350.00 for one heck of a truck, and a kick but engine!
I did that and actually got most of the LST for free (and then some), if you play your cards right it works out very well!
