Try loosening the screws that hold the pull start on and try to wiggle it to see if it will retract if not take it off very carefully as it may explode.
If it made a snap when you pulled the string the spring is broke.
Those pull starts are hard to put back together if it is just a jam and comes undone then great but if it is more than that just get a new one it will never be the same after you mess with them.

The OWB and shaft getting stuck together could also be something to look into, happened to me once. You wont know till you open it anyways.

Same happened to my buddy's aftershock... You need to re spool the spring, the end that locks into the rope pully pops out when you pull the recoil rope out all the way too many times. You can fix this by shortening the rope so the engine only rotates 4 or 5 revolutions insted of 6+ that it does, at least thats what I did and he dont have that problem anymore...

also to make sure that u don't pull the string out to far, this is a little tip
with the pull strter off pull the string out all the way, the last 5 inches of the spring color black with a shrpie marker. then re-assemble, now when your pulling the cord u and u see the bleck string u know to shorten up the pulls to u don't over extend the string and break it

If you have a blow dryer, you can start it at 30 degrees. First use the blow dryer on the engine while still inside. Wait till the engine is at about 100+ degrees. Stick the glowplug ignitor on the engine, run outside, turn radio on, and attempt to fire it up. It should start with the heated engine. Just make sure to run it rich. The mistake in cold weather is to lean it out. Don't.
