thnx for this awesome info! i just rebuilt one using the dynamite P/S and was thinking of adding the button from the teal head for a lil' compression boost and running 25% nitro. i'll port the sleeve and swap in the new rod a lil' after break-in is complete....
are there any other carb's that are known to fit this motor but give an option for different venturis? also would i need to use shim's with the 25% nitro and higher comp button?
what pipe's is everyone using with these motor's and how is performance/runtime? this is going in a matrix buggy and currently runnin' an OFNA 063 i believe....
many thnx

The best pipe I have run on a Mach is the stock Losi (Muggy pipe - I assume it's the same as the 8B and 8T RTR pipes...) 053 killed top end, 086 kills bottom I hear, and JP-2 was just lame compared to my stock Muggy pipe.. On my LST2 I've only ever run the stock LST2 pipe, and I see no reason to change. It's ideal for the Mach.
Here's my RC8 buggy with silver Mach 427, stock Muggy pipe, and Fioroni clutch. 17T CB I think..:

i run a picco carb on my 427 no problem. it is on older carb off of a picco p5, but it still fit a newer ofna motor, so i think the carb size hasn't changed so a picco carb should work.

thnx for the replies gent's! please keep 'em comin'!
nice vid there HerrSavage! that buggy rip's pretty darn good with that setup! look's like i will have similar performance in my buggy [8D] i think i'm going to be pleasantly surprised!
jikkuria does that carb offer you the choice of different sized venturi's? at least i know that a carb with those dimension's will work, just that i would preffer being able to switch venturi size's depending on my mood lol

The Mach is identical to the Sportwerks 26, so look for that carb. It comes with the venturis. The LRP Spec 3 Truggy version has the same carb with venturis as the SW 26.

anyone know how many shim's these motor's come with stock? the person that owned mine previously removed all of the shim's. i tried looking at the LOSI/dynamite/sportwerks manual's but could'nt find anything definitive....

i checked those as well but it didn't make sense to me? they have 2 x .1mm shim's which = .2mm right?
so why wouldn't they use all .2mm shim's to get to the .6mm estimated? i'm confused
many thank's!

RE: The Dynamite MACH 427? Pro's/Con's
in case anyone is interested (which i highly doubt lol) i have ran ~1l of nitro throught the mutant mill and so far so good!
so to recap i am using an orange headed mach 427 with 2 x .2 shim's and 2 x .1 shim's for a total of .6, the teal head button in conjunction with a sportwerks 26v2 carb using 9mm venturi and 25% nitro.
with this combo it make's awesome power and get's decent runtime IMO anyway
i'm still running a lil' on the rich side and using a small 125cc tank so run time's are about 7min in my matrix FRE buggy and the temp's are never higher than 220 with the lid on
i still have to finish break-in and work on the tuning but i am satisfied to say the least! i have a 6.5mm + 8mm venturi to play with as well, plus a 7.5mm on the way so runtime's should get better when i switch to the smaller venturii and i'm also gonna take the dremmel to the sleeve when break-in is complete [8D]
if anyone has any kind of info/tip's please feel free to post them up [8D]
thnx to those that helped me accomplish this

RE: The Dynamite MACH 427? Pro's/Con's
The 427 is a good motor for what it is... The 454 is better! 'SH engines' are the manufactures of these items as well as dynamite, XTM and some LRP's (including the .28 spec 3). SH .28P8, LRP .28spec3, NOSRAM .28 and the losi 454 are pretty much the same engine with only very, very minor insignificant differences between them. Bang for buck these motors are great, any one of them...
