New Era Roll Bar

This thing is unbelieveably tough and light....its way stronger than those vg roll cages and all those other bulky full body cages.

I would also suggest going with the new era roll bar aswell.

I dont go easy at all on my truck and its held up perfectly.

all those other cages seem to really make working on the truck more difficult and take alot longer. if your anything like me you run your truck with the intention of breaking it so having to remove the roll cage to fix something kinda seems dumb

the new era roll bar is super tuff and allows for fixing of the truck without having to remove it.

but if you plan on using your truck like a paperweight than i guess anything shiny will work

I own a vg racing roll cage and i absolutely love it. I have never had an issue, no dings, bends or cracks. I can easily stand on it. To remove just take out 4 body clips and shes out. It adds strength to the chassis and bodys last much longer. I love them.

No, as far as I know they are only available on the New Era site or killerhobbies.com. I got mine from killer for 50 + 7.91(S/H) and I think its worth every penny. Oh and I don't wanna start a flame war but the vg roll cage bends easily if the truck lands from a 15ft jump totally upside down without an angle....the new era will hold up. I can say this confidently because after a 2hr bashign session with a friend who has the vg roll cage on his lst, we did identical jumps and the new era left that day only a little scractched up.

i got a vg cage on my lst2 too! works great. you can get them on ebay for like 50 bucks if ya get lucky or get one for 30 if ur reeeel lucky like me. they are awesome. they have great strength!. im about 200lbs and my fat ass cant break it!.. i even cut a 4 inch piece of it off so i could take the spur gear cover off without taking the cage off. and it still wont bend. the cage looks great and looks quite realistic. i just drive without a body somtimes, to show off tthe chrome shine!. i have always trusted it, and it is a good cage to invest in and unlike the rc solutions cage, you can get ur hand in the truck iff ya need to work on it. only bad thing about it, i also have an rd logics pipe on lst2 and i had to reroute the rear mounting screws but its no big. great investment!

you cage is mirror chrome? the add says on the ebay pages and the vg site says mirror chrome. took mine out of the box and it is gray. I dont mind that much, i might even like it more, but it is not a finished product.[:@]

Problem with those new ear bar's is when you flip ALL the force is in the middle and with just the right hit upside down you will bend the chassis and crack the rail. VG full rollcage seems like the best option.

Here's my old pics..
I have since updated to metal body posts,
I feared I would break the shock towers by doing this, but now;
I haven't broken a metal body post, or a shock tower in over a month! (Since the switch)

funman1: That K&N filter or something that looks like it is very bad for your engine as it barely blocks the tiny particles from entering the carb. I suggest you replace it immediately with the stock 2 stage foam filter or else you will see a significant loss of power and life in your engine
