Would you consider the well-being of the association prior to any legal action related to our hobby?
Too simple.
First, in your scenario, would MAAC be at fault (the enforced rule scenario previously discussed)?

Second, I would consider the welfare of my family before I would consider the well-being of MAAC. In fact, that's why I withdrew my position as Scale committee chair ... my daughter's health took priority.

I would not sue for personal profit, Ill gotten gains are seldom enjoyed.

Is that what you're looking for?[sm=confused.gif]

What point are you trying to make?

Yeah, that's what I was looking for.

Just wondering where everyone else stood and to see where the debate led. No health issues, but my withdrawl from MAAC was for family reasons as well. It was cutting too much into their time.

Why would you expect any different from any sane, healthy, moral person?
I wouldn't expect anyone to pick MAAC above their family.
In fact, I don't think I could trust anyone who chose otherwise, we would just be too dissimilar in values to make any assumptions about actions/reactions....[sm=confused.gif]

your right, pretty black and white when talking of dibilitating injury or major financial loss.

Where the debate might get interesting is exploring areas related to less serious injury, personal property damage or grey issues like, "slander". (I throw the last one in for the number of times it was threatened while serving on the board.)

If you are referring to the accient that happened last year, it is well over a year ago so I'm not certain how the timing is suspect ... if there is a new one we are not aware of then I apologize. If Randy is referring to the year ago accident then I would suggest any OPP investigation is long completed.
If it is OK to ask at this point, what happened with that accident? What was the final adjudication?

Thanks,

The injured modeler is home and recovering.
MAAC is named in a law suit by Ontario health.
