The first batch of P-180RX turbines arrived today. Looks a lot like the P-140RX, spinner nut is like a P-20SX with a protrusion for better O ring life. Compressor looks meaty

Picked up my new 180RX today and I am installing it in my UL as we speak.
Looking forward to flying the upgraded UL as soon as the weather behaves.
Will report back as soon as I have flown it.

No, still an O ring, just rather than one side that rubs (and wears) the starter engages and runs constantly. The spinner nut is machined down to have a "pin" sticking out so this goes into the O ring to increase area in contact, aids centring, so should reduce wear...Big Geoff should fly his this week.

Hi
I really don't see this as a problem. I have more than 20h in my P160SE with original o-ring. Improvements are welcome nonetheless.
I am tracking this new turbine but I really am refrained by the internal quero burner. If one is burn at the field, flying day is over and turbine as to be sent to Germany to change it. No fun...
Improvements are ok, but seems with this one (and please enlighten me if I am wrong), the direction is no good
best regards
Nuno

Hi,
I have flown my UL with the new p180rx installed and I have to say I am really surprised at the difference it has made. The extra power is definately noticable and the UL is very quick and has unlimited verticals.
The starting is very jetcat like, i.e. a non event. I also checked how much fuel I am using and it isn't much more. I guess its because I am coming off the throttle more
In summary, its running beautifully. Well done jetcat. I will be flying the UL at classic jets on friday if anyone wants to see the performance.
Geoff.
