Looks nice but are they covering it with that chinakote crap.

I have my doubts on the weight too.. but the Edge I have weighed a lot more than advertised and it still is a great flying plane.. I trashed the first one and liked it so much I picked up another. I had to recover it though. For the $$ it was a good deal as an ARC.

I'm sure the weight will be at around the 15 to 16lb. After what happen to the weights on the 30% EDGE he be watching the weight on this one more closely.

Any chance we could get pictures of the interior? The lines and #s look very familiar.
Will it be setup for Hinge points or CA hinges out of the box? What diameter of wing tube does it use?

Hi Freedomflier,
This is Max of BME Aircraft, just browse through and saw this thread talk about BME Yak. Thought I jump in and anwer your question and all others if any. The CF wing tube dia. of the main is 1 1/4", same as our Edge 540, 3' long, it's able to stand most harsh blender punishment.
BTW, YNC is right. We've been very careful about the weight now. This Yak will be 8lb or less out of the box.

Hi Flyme
The covering material we used is from the same factory that make Monokote in China, only a different line of product. The film has been tested in terms of toughness and handle, but way more cheaper than Monokote. That's how we can keep the cost down and bring you the more afordable ARF. There's really nothing wrong with that covering. It may just be personal preference.

I personally as well as many others that like the designs of your aircraft tend to stay away from your planes due to the covering. If something happens to the plane you will not be able to make a good repair and use the same covering. If it is so cheap how about throwing in a roll of each color with the arf. Better yet charge me more and give me standard monocote as an option. It the only think keeping me from bying the oracle pitts, and the new yak.

Thanks Bryan
We'll consider what you suggested. That's a great idea. We'll do something about it. If the color matching is the problem, that will be easy to take care of.
BTW, the color on the Challenger should match Missile Red (Monokote).

Personally I don't think theres anything wrong with the covering. I had to patch the bottom of my EDGE i use monokote and it work out fine. I sooner have MAX stay with the same covering and have a cheaper plane. I find the covering don't wrinkle like the ultrakote over the long winter.

Using Monokote will not be just a few more bucks' difference. What if we include half roll of each main colors in the kit? Or/and come up with the ARC version?
