I've noticed a rattle in 2 planes recently. In both cases it is in the left motor. Sounds like a bad bearing. Are these motors reversable? Could this be a precursor to the transistor dying, more power load to keep the plane flying straight?
BTW, I popped the shell off of my gyrotor. Pic's are on the gyrotor thread. Tim

Never again with the sheet balsa fuselage- breaks everywhere and had to
cut some foam sheets for side reinforcement.
The time is going back home from the field everytime I bust it up from trimming.
But close... very close.

Great looking jet!
When you get to test flying it, protect the nose with something like
a sponge or scrap foam. After a couple of dives testing out my foam
jet the nose ended up smooshed like an accordion.
Got the yellow winged plane flying pretty good now. Adding weight to
the nose solved the nose diving problem. Odd as that sounds, the weight
must be returing the lift back to under the wing.
Clipped the rudders and bent them in- tail now looks like a Star Wars TIE
fighter, but the plane flies and climbs nice.

After jets and tie fighters this is boring, but here is a mono mod that is controllable. I will start this by saying this plane has less than 2 hours flight time. I usually don't mod out new planes, but I wanted to try out the concept. With least chance of success. What I have is an early 06 red B channel. I removed the lower wings, glued in drink stirrers(SP?) to keep the upper wings from floating the fuse. The result is a nifty little plane. Check out the pic's, if you have a question please ask it. I need to mod mine and wait for the wind to calm down. We have had around 20mph wind the past 2 days. I haven't flown one of these in like 2 months. Mine never flew too good. It would always nose dive after a turn. I will start messing with it again. Or transfer the electronics to another plane. My best one ever, was a red B channel, and flew like a dream. It would climb at any throttle step. And would climb really high really fast. But I was flying it one day and one of the motors weant dead and weant straight down into a spiral dive. I flew it the most, and that was the one I liked to take upto 100+ feet. Oh well, I will try and get some of the video soon. I will mess with it later tonight.

rc, do you have plans for a ski mod? Where I live it's going to be hit or miss for flying outdoors. I have helis to keep me going. Where you are you could potentially fly off of ski's. Always look to the positive, you'll be happier. Tim

I mean the most evil of all weather, snow. I hate snow, sorry but there it is. But if I was forced to live where snow was going to occur, I'd put skis on my planes. Now I may be making an incorrect assumption, but I thought that all of the eastern states got snow. Yes KC MO is eastern. In my mind anything east of TX is "back East". Tim

well done!!! Makg!!! I have been pondering skis for a while.
Suzonka, the mono mod I just posted, seems like you could land it with landing gear in the corrct conditions. I tend to fly over grass and land wherever I hit. Tim

new to the forum here. there is so much to read through. I have simple battery charging question though. is it ok to try and charge the plane even if it has bit of charge left in it?. or should I run it down first? and what is "cycling" the battery? Is it harmful if I accidentally tried again to charge a full battery?
Also, is there any maintenence or whatnot that can or should be done with these motors to keep them running well? This plane is just too much fun....
thanks in advance....

motor just a tad so the props thrust is away from the fuselage. If it's diving
on a left turn, do the same for the left motor.
Or you can try trimming a bit off the rudder.

I tried flying in some wind and every time I turned into the wind, the plane dropped. I just couldn't get any lift. This got me thinking again. The motors point slightly down to give the plane more lift. This has a tendency to cause stalls so we bend the elevator flaps down. This causes it to dive with no power and now I see it dives in a headwind. So what if you keep the elevator tabs straight and angle the motors straight? I think it will prevent the porpoise syndrome. The only drawback I see is you won't have your failsafe dive if it gets caught by high altitude wind. Anyone care to try it?

A couple of things you can try. If it's diving on a right turn twist the right
motor just a tad so the props thrust is away from the fuselage. If it's diving
on a left turn, do the same for the left motor.
Or you can try trimming a bit off the rudder.

Well bad news for me, the red & black AA bipe I just bought two days ago just quit. The motors don't turn on, and i had just charged the battery...so my question is should I exchange it for a new bipe, or a new jet? What(if any) are the common problems w/the jet? What should i do when/if i get the jet? Thanks

point up. If the leading edge of the wing is angled properly the downward thrust
of the props onto the trailing edge will push the LE of the wing upwards, giving
the plane its lift.
I've tried everything to stop the porpoising with the best being a canard. But
then this causes new problems of its own.
The only thing to truly stop it is a third channel and elevator control.

Yes, 3000th post in this thread.
Edit: I did the move the motors like neurotex said and I used ca to stick it on there. Not the best idea but it will work for now. I will test it when the wind settles down. The wind has been very light today, so I might try tonight.
