Hi Skunkworks2006, that sounds really cool, would you know of a possible
web site that might show these LED bobber lights?? Also, I live out here on
the "left coast", So.cal, those stores you mention are not out here.. Would
Wal-Mart possibly carry these in there sporting goods dept?? I like your idea
of a quick fix, and even moving them across to other R/C aircraft. I am guessing
they are really small? I mean, my AA barely carries the dime I am using for
the CG mod. Any pics or information on how to go about obtaining these LED
bobber lights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the reply.

They have them at Wal-Mart here in MI, but night fishing isn't at all uncommon either. However the only ones I've found there are the red ones.
They are very small, about an inch long and weigh next to nothing. The only time I noticed any difference in flight characteristics was when I taped one to the nose of my havoc and that made forward flight faster. On the AA's they fit in the undercambered wing area and don't produce any noticable extra drag either.
Here is an article showing them:

Here they are on Cabella's website:

Andrew pm microbuilder. He is the best resource I know of.
All, I finally suceeded in soldering the mosfet modules in place. Here are pic's. Also a pic of a controller modded for 3 bands and the turn without throttle mod. Tim
MegaByte 2, can I take this to 2S lipo land now? Or if I can find one, a larger lipo with a 15C-20C rating? Tim

Fern, GREAT JOB on the Rx. It's a nice feeling when you get them mosfets on there for the first time, they are very small.
Did one of the mosfets burn out ? I have thought about e-mailing Tony to get some of the new mosftes that you attach to the end of the Rx.
Does anyone know where I can get my hands on some thin ( .030" or less ) shielded wire? I have a crappy pic of my Picco Z to help explain. It's the wire used to hook up the battery to the Rx. I am looking for the lightest wire I can find, I have Nine LED's rated at 10,000mcd ea. and I want to put them on my Storm Launcher.

Yes, it is smaller. I'm at work so I can't send until later. You could check the RS website. They will have the spec's. This wire is also very inexpensive. I think I paid $4 for each roll. The wire is 30 gauge, solid. Tim

Nice vid tony, the problem I've had with the jet models is poor turning ability at speed. It appears you've solved that.
DJ, the wrapping wire is 0.01 inches in diameter with the insulation. I don't know what the amp rating is. When charging the triton jr puts 0.1A through it. Three weeks worth of charges with no problems, knock on EPP. I hope that helps. Tim

Zoil, I think you asked what a TX was. TX is shorthand for a transmitter, or controller. RX is shorthand for reciever, or on the Aces, the entire electronics package. Tim

My Air Hog had been flying great!
I have done the turning at closed throttle mod and the throttle return spring mod.
But today it became unflyable.
The left motor has lost nearly all thrust.
When I was troubleshooting I discovered it needed a "shove" to start turning sometimes.
Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks!
JLK

It sounds like a mosfet died. Check with megabyte-2 he can hook you up with replacement parts. Out of curiosity, was that a b channel? Tim

Hey guys, Im brand new here, and im wondering why my bipe is porpoising
. Ive got wheight on the front and no lower wings, but its still doing it bad, im in around 1-2 MPH wind (I even tried it 0 MPH wind :\). My AA sport is PERFECT flying though, I have a dime taped on its lower part of the fuse right in front of the on-off switch witch enabled me to fly at least 100 feet above my head with ease. Thanks in advance for a response!

Check the mods thread. Many put a coin on the front of the ace, or move the battery forward a touch. I would rcommend the double stir stick mod. Also try flying at 70% power. Then use the burst of power to climb and do tricks. Tim

Thanks fern! That was very helpful
. Also, this is a question for Micro_Builder, I've tried many ideas and i really cant get any good flyers like you do :P. So I was wondering if on my monowing glider made from foam plates I use my AA electronics would work, because I know on my Bipe with the stuff i can hit AT LEAST 15-20 MPH on a good dive. Also, the Foamie I mentioned is only 5.8 grams so im afraid of loosing the plane and my electronics. Also, the local stores are ALL sold out on these things and may wait a month for them : \ so Im scared of loosing my stuff :P.

With some practice of about 2 days and a good, no porpoising, plane (like a single wing Bipe or a Sport) you can do some nice things, i just end up doing random, loops and barrel rolls in the air with my sport

i live for 3D...
I did this to my jet a while ago...It does help for turning. I also added some landing gear to save the nose and props of the jet.. The jet lands hard so you need some spring in them.
God Speed Aero Ace....God Speed.
