See what I know! Can't tell a resistor from a frick'n capacitor.
Thanks for the info.
I think I'll continue to fly the AA plane as it is with the N20's until
it craps out too but I think I'm done with the AA's.
Can't beat em for the price! They're a great plane and I've learned
a tremendous lot from them. I'll still be keeping an eye on them here
to see if any improvements are made but with the all the new planes
coming out now I'm tempted to try something different.
The future looks great for RC and AH too.

Tom,did you get your Easy Star and fly it?If so how do you like it?
On another note,my nieghbors are hot to find AAs,but there are none around here in the Beautiful Mid Hudson Valley in New York State, any scouting reports from retail outlets in this area?AAs rule and are the best learning tool!

I DID get it (it came last Friday) but have not flown it yet. I assembled it and it's ready to rock. Hopefully this Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday I'll give her a maiden. She sure is a beauty!

Over the last week, I've read every post in this thread. Quite a read!
Anyway, I modified my AA, I went to mono config, then shaved down the hull, then added the other wing halves to the top to make it an AMAZING glider. I tossed it in the house, flew perfectly (after moving the lipo forward) with an amazing glide path. I modded the TX (power off steering) and added an antenna that was about double the length.
Only two things left to do to make it the most amazing glder ever: move the engines OUT so that I could put it in a death spiral if I get in a thermal, and .. put my name on it.
I went out for a quick check, gave it a light toss in front of the house.
It flew. Perfectly.
I didn't even give it any juice, just a toss. Without realizing it, I threw it in a strong thermal. In about 10 seconds, it was 30 or 40 feet up. Inside of 30 seconds, I was running up the street after it, and it was out of control. inside of a minute, maybe a little more, it was out of sight. Keep in mind, the next thing I was going to do was put my name on it. DANGIT!
But, it was so pretty. wow.
I went out and bought the last the local wal mart had (a "b", fortunately.. same as the one I lost) . .
I'll attack and re-mod the crap out of this one as well. It's a shame, it flies really well.
ANYWAY, just want to ask, what is the deal with the '06's? Do they not fly as well as the 05's?

Here are pic's of my latest mod. This is a work in progress. I'm trying to create mod's that can be done with all original parts. BTW, my new AA's are not failing. No transistor failure so far, but I wore out a battery out pretty good. Anyway here are the pic's. I think I should cut the trailing edge back some, but it is gloriously unstable. It likes inverted flight and barrel rolls.
I'm thinking about cutting the end to the same degree as the normal wing.

I just spent some time on the storm launcher. It does not come with the lipo. That is an extra $30. The release date is different on all the sites I checked, latest delivery in October. We are talking about spinmaster here, so think maybe november. I don't see any size specs anywhere. What I would like to see is more of the silverlit models. Tim

So you only cut the supports in front of the battery, not under it, right? So the battery moves forward about 1/4 inch (6mm)? Anyone know of a glue that will let you pry it apart again if needed?

If you pry the nose apart (it's only glued together) you will be able to see the battery. I cut out the foam pillars on both sides of the plane to the front of where the battery was and gently moved the battery forward as far as I could. The battery is held in with two sided tape so you'll have to wiggle it a bit to move it forward. It will only go so far forward as you will see.If you need to you can use white glue to put the nose back together but sometimes the nose will go back with the old glue.It should glide pretty good and give a decent level flight.

Is the F-16 Falcon any good?
Another one of my AA's is way up in a tree. I modified this one by mating the bottom wings to the top ones. Just mounted them under the tips of the top wings with about 1/2" overlap and held on with tape. It flew GREAT for the few days I had it this way. Smooth, but could really get some cool stunts in the wind. This one is in a pine tree, so even winter won't bring it down.

I've got an extra set of motors 4 sale with the props.
Got em from Aeroacemods.com and never used them.
Not sure if they got em used or not but they're good.
$8 and that includes shipping.
PM me if you must have... and I know you must!

gtx. if the connector is your only concern.. it's not hard at all changing this kind of thing... should be the least of your worries..

Slotcar - there is a whole thread on the F16 - I have had it for several months. The short version is that it flys like a dart and land s like a dart. It takes a big flying area and has slow to indeterminate turning control with the single stick. Old style Nimhal battery for about 4 min flight. That said - it is a devil in flight - fast and sounds and looks great. BUT be prepared to loose it - make sure your name and address is on it. I call it the scarry flyng lawn dart.
