i recently ported my header and was looking on doin the sleeve and crankshaft....i dont want to do piston or rod becasue that messes with the balance or timing or w/e..........so has anyone done this by themselves? i know it might be a stupid question but u never know! [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

I've done mine. Nothing fancy just a few improvements here and there.
Massive - it's not almost impossible to balance, it IS impossible to balance. A good medium is to measure the weight of the piston + wrist pin + conrod, then take 55-60% of that and make a weight that you put on the crank pin. With that done you go ahead and balance the crank including the weight. This gives a good dynamically balanced engine.

If you don't touch the timings and overall dimentions of the port nothing will get messed up. Just rounding off the edges on the OUTSIDE of the liner is safe and doesn't harm anything. Other things I've done is to knife-edge the lower part of the liner and cut away the skirt of the piston if that's not already done.
