Default Thunder Tiger (Ace Hobby) Support

Has anyone had problems with the quality of customer service from Thunder Tiger? I am very dissatisfied how they handled my problem. I had couple of small parts were defective. We are talking cowl being wrong color and cracked rudder fin. Other companies would send you replacement no questions asked right? TT asked for old parts first. No problem. I sent them back even though it meant major delay.
Then, when it came to ship the good parts back they told me that one of the parts would not be in stock until mid March! So they did not ship me that part although they could have checked this up-front. Finally, they were a week late shipping the package back to me and they are trying to BS me that it is UPS delaying the process. I have shipped tons of packages though UPS and never had a problem UPS being a week late with shipping a package dropped to them.
I have built ARFs from vendors such as SIG and Falcon Trading and had no problems whatsoever on the service. TT place seems to be putting customers through hoops and the level of support really seems dismal. I will never buy another TT product again. It is not an isolated case, I had a TT engine before and what a nightmare it was to get spare parts.

Sorry for the venting and if this is an isolated case, please comment on your positive experience with Ace Hobby.

I agree. Some how, some way, I misplaced a carb to my NIB TT.46Pro. I called them requesting to purchase a replacement. They told me I could only purchase one through a dealer. I had to call 3 hobby shops in order to get one ordered which is taking another week or so to arrive. I like TT engines, but now reconsidering the whole thing. I feel your pain.

I don't think it is isolated.

Also UPS has let me down. Just when you get used to a certain delivery time.... It all goes to pot. A week late. I had one package of 6 that went back and forth between Cleveland and Denver 6 times before it went in the right direction out of Denver. It arrived almost two weeks later than the other three packages.

UPS can be tracked with a complete history but I'm sure TT wouldn't give you a tracking number.

Enjoy,

Jim

TT needs to get there act together. Most manufactures don't want the parts back if there defective and the turn around time with other manufactures is a lot faster. I've always felt that TT thinks the customer is trying to screw them over.

Hmm, it appears you don't own or have heard about Thunder Tiger's Rare Bear. I'll never buy anything that has the TT name on it again. You can begin here, but you might bring a lunch! http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_16..._1/key_/tm.htm
