I'm going to be starting my 21 scat cat from BBy racing soon and I'm going with a Feigao 8L and a Baracuda 125 amp esc. I'm probably going to start out with 6 cells just to get the hull set up then jump to 8.

My Gecko is running a 400 Feigao Brushless and 10 Intellect 1400mah batteries and a Hacker 40 ESC. I am still fine tuning it. I haven't had much time lately, still getting settled in since I moved.

I haven't finished testing different props yet, or with the new batteries. My old battery pack has a bad cell, So I will not post this info as it is misleading. I will try to do some testing this weekend and see if I can get someone to run the Vid Cam

Didn't I make a post saying, "lucky dog" after you won that hull for 78 bucks (more like stole).

A single B/L motor for that hull would be a 8XL-12XL depending on the speed you want vs. runtime. Running on 12 cells up to 18 cells.

Also we must know if you plan to run it on an oval course or just do flying speed runs at a pond/lake?

How long is the "Catamarun"???? you must give these details or else or he may try to put that motor into his hull that may be bigger and "wetter" than yours.

BTW, nice setup in an otherwise odd boat?? where did that thing come from??????????

why the 125 esc ?
on 6 cells ! man that is alot of over kill , you could run like a 70 amp esc, dont waste your money buddy !
and strengthen your stern where you mount the hardwear on with like a transom doubler and trippler

my set up , 7 XL , baraccuda 80 esc
20 cells nimh 4300 IB's , and/or 4 cell lipo 5000 mah 88 amp draw !

because from what I have seen 70 amp isnt nearly big enough!! Randy from BBY racing recomends at least an 80 amp for the 540 size 8L feigao. but for 40 more dollars why not get the 125. plus i may want to use it in a bigger boat someday. I've seen way to many guys at the local electric boat club have problems with esc's shutting down and I dont want that aggravation!

and how much money am i really gonna save. i bought the barracuda 125 for 159.99 at my LHS. Its worth it to me to spend a bit extra and be safe

It's faster but I doubt it's lighter.

Or offshore Electrics for $155.00 http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/rc_..._machine_1.JPG

"Fun Boats" likes to charge outrageous shipping charges, Like $50 US to ship 4 sets of bearings worth $10?????

They didn't even answer my Emails to buy $10 worth of lead teflon. I guess I am not worth their time. Too bad, I have $7000 tied up in my racing fleet and I don't cater to turkeys.

I had heard that the glass layup of the hull was supposed to be a bit lighter but maybe it isnt. You would think they would want to make it a bit lighter for electric since weight really seems to be an issue.

Hey crazy, tep thats a Mean machine. If you want to run this for sport,I would go with a 9 or 10 xl on the 14 cells with a 42 to 45 mm prop.Feago,Nemisis,or Hacker makes that motor.A Hacker 77,or any good 60 to 70 amp speedo should do the trick. When you build the boat keep the rudder close to the transom to help it from spinning out.
For competition.Sharpen the sponsons and up the anty to 18 or 24 cells with an 11XL and a 440 prop and hold on to your cahonys.
