Hey, Richard is the guru. I just observe from afar. But from what I've seen, I think we can rule out Tracy's claims of "BVM quality"! The sticks that Bob uses to mix his epoxy (when not using Aeropoxy, of course) are of more exacting standards.

A simple search of the RC Jet list will I am sure.....reveal my thoughts about this airplane......if you don't get the picture by the time you finish reading about it there......drop me a line! LOL

BTW Todd he did pop up on the Jet List a few weeks ago. More drivel followed.

What David doesn't want to tell you is he has been flying them for years and doesn't want anyone to know. It might tarnish his spotless image as a bleacher basher,, smasher F-4 crasher!

OOOO! thats gotta hurt

Mark,

I would love to but the F-4 is undergoing some detail upgrades, and the Bobcat is apart for a little touch up painting, and minor repairs to get it ready for another year of hell under my thumbs.

Redelman get off the computer and get to work on your F-4 so I can spank you at TG. Oh yeah and get my helicopter flying!

Do a search of the archives. Type in "Glasscat" in the engine, and see what comes up. Yes, Some of it is funny.

Sorry, I have been out for a week or so.

The Glasscat is on one of my homepage's, www.conceptserviceselectrical.com , Its been on the back burner, for a while, I was waiting for the engine, and canopy. While waiting, I reworked all the hinge points to woektmans spec's.
It was missing enough meat for the large robart hinges, therefore, I opened a hole in the wings to make blocks fit in it (major pain in the *****. Now that the engine is here, all I have to do is repair the repairs on the hinges, and figure out a way to make this canopy work. This has been a lot more work than was expected, the joke around my shop is her name (Tracey said this thing was going to be ready to go (mostly assembled)) so we call her "ready to go"!

It was a big thing on the Jets List last year. A fellow named tracy jenson said he was starting a new company, Diamond Star Models, and that they were making a new line of turbine models, including an F101 and others, out of prepreg materials. He came on a bit strong, and was making some pretty heady promises, how he was going to turn the whole industry on it's ear, etc., etc.,...when offered constructive advice(like why NOT to do prepreg), he just kind of showed that he really did not know what he was talking about, and had no real experience...except the Glasscat. Which he had sold some of, and not delivered. And Richard Newman got the only live one anybody has heard of, and it was not exactly as promised!
My take was this...I am all for new companies and new products, but I have also been caught at the short end of the stick, having paid out money and not had the goods delivered, and the type of money we are talking about(thousands for a jet kit), it's no joke.
And when you step into a forum(the jets list) with so many experienced people, it pays to listen for a bit to what others might have to offer as advice before telling THEM what is good for them.
Just my take.
The only good thing is that Tracy Jenson really put David Reid in his place!
The whole thing MIGHT just be one of Wocketman's pranks, though.

I am not sure if we all are talikng about the same plane(although we might). The plane I am talking about has been in production for at least 5-6 years. A local hobby shop has had one for at least 4 years. The owner bought it at a trade show. It is not a turbin but a pusher for say a OS BGX I ? He thinks it is worth about $400 more than their old ad of $695 I think. its twin boom with the center section housing the motor, full length horizontal stab between booms.
Anyway thanks for the responce. Mike

Well, if nothing else, it still looks cool. I wonder if it will hold together at 120 mph though.
