Hey fellas!
Just mounted my new tires on my new wheels and wanted to share some pix. I can't even believe how awesome this combo looks together. They seem as if they were made to be together... I have not tried them out yet, as Tower forgot to pack the glue!!! *******s! I am picking some up at my LHS tomorrow as soon as they open. I am sooooo anxious!
So here they are, Pro-Line Masher 2000/HPI SS Monster Wheel combo... I took a ton of pix. It was hard to choose the best for you guys. I threw in one with the stockers for a comparison.
Special thanks to my buddy Tom for hooking me up with these babies for my b-day. UPS 2nd day air even! Now THATS what I call a good friend...

Thanks for the comment Louie
. These tires require a 2.2" wheel to be mounted on. Whatever wheels he gets, make sure he goes with all 4 REAR wheels. The wheels labelled front are for 2WD trucks and will not work with a 4WD. The wheels I got come in black and white, which can be painted. They will fit an STX for sure. The inner hex fits right on the hub (12mm?), but you use the supplied washer to make the hole a smaller diameter. They come with an adapter kit for a variety of hubs.
Follow the links for the part #s.

Wow man those look pretty snazzy.
I really like the black 5 spoke rims.
The rim also seems a little smaller than the stock which means you've got more bounce in the tires. That should help out a lot with jumps.
Let us know how they hold up.

Yes, the wheels are a lot smaller, 2.2". The stockers are 3". So far so good! This tire/wheel combo ROCKS! I can't even believe how much better they hook up, and as far as jumps, very nice indeed. One thing I did notice, and actually expected, is that it rolls a bit easier now on certain surfaces. Like I said, I expected it seeing there's way more bite with these tires and they have more sidewall play, 1 1/4", than the stockers, which had just over 3/4".
One thing about these wheels is that you need to use the supplied washer to make the axle fit properly. The rim is universal, so it has a larger center hole and comes with an adapter kit to fit many vehicles. With the washer installed the nylon part of the wheel nut doesn't quite thread on all the way, so I LocTited them on. I would have to do this everytime I switched wheels, so unless I'm exclusively street driving I'll just leave them alone. When you want to drive, you just want to drive. You don't want to wait around for LocTite to set up! I suppose you could speed up the process with a hair dryer, but I don't usually carry one around with me...

Looks good[8D]
BTW-easier course of action for the white rims is to dye 'em using RIT dye. Go to Wally World and get it from the fabric section, it's good stuff...but don't let the old lady know you're using her good teflon pot for dyeing RC car parts...trust me on that one
