That is pretty stupid. Unions often have important issues to address but they go after dumb stuff.
One of the reasons I hate my union worse that the administration.
On the other hand, needing Viagra should fall under treatment for a job related impairment.
The aversion to children that teaching creates could cause a subconscious desire to avoid the act that creates them (IE: pregnancy).

Wow, If one works for four hours you have to see a doctor, if the other one does, it's a miracle.

I was only pointing out more waist you are talking about just close to home for you. I think you being a teacher and all the waist in your own union you should start at home and not worry if your 60 bucks the the ama is getting, waisted or not .I am pretty sure you pay more in to the union than that . Every year ama does a audit and posts it in the magizine, if you get one ,and you can see where every dime is spent. Go on the war path then sisco. joe

If you read my posts then you would know that I said nothing about having a problem with the dues.
Also, you know nothing about my particular union so once again you are leaping to wild conclusions.
I have read the financial statements, "Salaries including contract services $2,386,327" is not seeing where every dime is spent.
The tax return they don't publish tells a much more interesting story.
I also read the AMA's articles of incorporation. Have you?
Did you read the NPO annalysis report?
Did you read the Tax returns?

So you admit you know nothing but just jumped in here for a personal attack.

An intelligent person would know that only members can post in the AMA forum. You don't need to know my AMA #.

Guess what the AVERAGE Federal Employee makes (salaty + benefits) $123,049.00

http://www.usatoday.com/money/econom...#uslPageReturn

Federal civil servants earned average pay and benefits of $123,049 in 2009 while private workers made $61,051 in total compensation, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The data are the latest available.

The federal compensation advantage has grown from $30,415 in 2000 to $61,998 last year.

Your hard earned tax dollars at work......................... anybody feel better now?

LOL!

I guess it depends on whether "joining AMA" means becoming a dues-paying member or a salaried employee.

dbcisco...................... You brought up wages ....... see post 202 and 204

Looks like the AMA Executives make less then a AVERAGE Federal Bureaucrat...... The regular staff makes less then half of a Federal Bureaucrat and less then the AVERAGE private sector employee.

Looks like the AMA is managing the money carefully.

No, starting wages are lower than average wages. No mistake.
