Default Pro Boat Mini-V EP RTR

Since I am a micro nut, I would love to play with one of these, it would make a great toy. And yes of course after I got tired of it I would probably go over board and put a brushless 400 in it, just to see what would happen, for better or worse of course that would be after I converted it so surface drive lol

They are the same motor receiver and servo as the LOSI MINI _T

Is this is quality boat, like better than the zip zag or reef racer? Would be a great starter boat for my girlfriend, but I don't want an unreliable boat.

The mostly plastic backside looks scary, but other than that, the prce looks right. I would love to have one just to mess around with.

Yes I would say its better than the ZZ or RR because at least it has a separate steering servo and I think more room for upgrades.

Yeah I like that it looks like a rc boat and not a toy, but yeah that strudder is bit scary, wouldnt be too hard to improve on though

yes but it is a 4 pin servo connector. So to upgrade you will need to buy a new esc and servo and reciver.

I would upgrade the esc anyway. As far as the servo goes I have several servos and receivers laying around waiting on a project

Quicksilver, no it would not be hard to correct the strudder problem or the u-joint motor to shaft connector.

I figured I'd need a another setup, so far as yet have not been able to justify buying another radio. But really I guess I'd be lookin at like another 80$ or so, have to think about this one. I still need my brushless esc.

The money pit of boating is rearing it's ugly head.. We need an animation of that, some monster eating money. kind of funny I have the value of my current car, sitting on my shelf. Whatever I've doubled my assets I suppose. So when I go to buy a new car, I've got a toyota, 2 jet boats, a vintage chris craft, and a humvee to trade in, sounds much better on paper.

If I get the boat I would run it for a while like it is. Maybe add a battery and see what happens. It would even be a great boat to let my son play with while I drive the yellow demon

My big concern is the radio. Now I know it's not a hobby grade setup, but do you think the radio is decent?
Any idea on range?

Reason I ask is when these mini rc vehicles came out, I bought one of those zip zaps, which worked great at first and after about 4 runs it has a range of 3ft. Think this boat could actually have the capability to go out in the middle of a pond, or even for a rescue? If so, I think I will get one, boat for the girlfriend and a rescue boat, kill two birds with one stone. I could really care less about upgrading for performance, I just want something good out of the box.

I can't be sure about the range now, but I can say that My Zig Zag radio was a suprise how far it would go without a glitch. But now I remember why. Its the same radio they use on the HobbyZone Planes. Like the Firebird 2st. You have to have good range on a plane.

What are we talking 100ft or more? I'm sorry so many questions, but I've had one radio for the last 8 years so, my knowledge is limited to one radio with 600+ft range I just keep moving it from one vehicle to the next.

Zig Zag radios have a range of 1500 ft. It is the same as the radio in the Firebird 2 st.

I like it. its basic, and the strudder I am sure works ok.

People dog the steerable outdrive systems, but the fact is, for slow speed quick manuvers and funning around they work well. I really liked the villain EX setup. Lots of tourqe and that boat, although not the fastest would turn on a dime from a dead stop. Kinda neat for playing with the dog

obviously strudders must be cheaper to make and implement then flex drives because proboat loves them on their cheap boats

Shouldn't be too long Chris. Ohio is liquid now. I found a few resiviors that had a small amount of flow were the first to thaw. Now I have my choice. Gota love daylight savings time too!

My friend at my LHS is ordering mine Monday morning and he said it should be here next Friday. I am doing it this way to support my LHS and to save the $10.00 in shipping. I hope it doesn't come back to haunt me

I just picked up a white one from my LHS. I found out that the freq is exactly the same as my friends boat. I swapped crystals with my E-maxx to rectify that problem. I'll probably run her stock for a while.

Mine should be here Friday (yellow). Post some pics or some vids. Vids would especially be nice. They always make the vids on the manufacture web site where you can't really see what kind of speeds its moving at.
