That's right fella's, I just got my SisT FW-190 A8!!!
And OMG! It is truely amazing. There are so many parts included with this kit and the quality is second to none. He even makes the scale aluminum Hood Gun tips and are included with it. I am 100% impressed with This kit so far. I'll be going on this one pretty quick. The pictures that many may have seen of this kit Do Not Do It Justice!
I purchased this kit (NIB) from a fellow RCU guy (great guy btw). I was able to get the Sierra retracts/ tail gear and air kit as well as a very nice cockpit kit all new in box.
This thread will become a build/assembly thread once I get started so check back soon.
Things I still need:
Zenoah G-45, SisT engine mount, SisT exhaust, SisT Scale spinnerw/fan, SisT Scale wheels, And misc Radio/Servo equipment.
I will post pics of what was received soon

I am truly jealous
. I have been eyeballing these for a few months now I am torn between this and the Aerotech mustang. Hopefully early next year I
will have enough cash saved up to get one. Unless SisT comes out with the 109 like they say later this year then my desision will be even harder. Congratulations
and hurry up with those pics I'm dying to see some more shots.

Here's some pics. too much to shoot tonight but here is some detail shots. The white gel coat his hard to photograph but you can still see how much detail he put into this bird. I dont think he missed a single hatch, hold, hinge or rivot. One thing I like is that he cast in all the natural wrinklesand dents that accur in the alum sheeting Unlike some other kits. these full size planes by no means were perfect and wrinkle/dent free.

you must have bought this from Don. yep, he's a good dude.
I have mine for sale here in the ad's. I built mine with a G62. the
short nose, and heavy tail moment, it was a better choice with
the 62.
mine is at 28 lbs. CG'd. I also am finishing the D9 from SisT as well.
I have a build thread along with Evan Q at RCSB of our build of the
A8. it does build into a great plane. but, as the old saying goes, keep the
tail light. and this plane is definatley one that needs that.
I also did not use the soft mount system, nor CF sandwhich engine backplate
mount. the mount had to much flex, and the soft mounts deteriorated

Anyone have and extra spinner with fan??? or exhaust. I just ordered some things from DJ Aerotech but it will take a while to get here.
Yep, Got it from Don. Great guy and has been alot of help.

Tripp, when you find a fan, make sure its a "good" one.
I mean this by some early versions had air bubbles and
small cracks in the fans, which caused serious failure issues.
Stephan has addressed this issue, and remade some of these
faulty fan units

I have the ss muffler you need for the g-45...cheap too. Mine has the g-62 in it. not quite done yet though. Dont go by the plans for servo location in the fuse. Get EVERYTHING YOU CAN ahead of the cg.

pop, money is not the issue here. This plane was designed with the G-45, 65 in mind and a mount kit is made by the mfg for the engine and a custom exhaust as well. I'm more interested in the engine being totally concealed, plug cap and all. That is why I'm going with the Zenoah 45. If something else will hide I may change my mind. My other thought is that this needs to fly at a scale speed. Not at Reno Air Race speed. 50-60mpg would look very scale. And I'm not trying to "hang it" on the prop. I'm at 200-300ft asl.

I hear you on keeping all the gear up front. I'm planning on keeping as much up under the gun hood as possible. Throttle servo will be in the nose as well as batts if need be. I have'nt read through the entire manual yet but can see how easy this can become tail heavy.
Thanks

Todd, That would be ugly. I just ordered one from DJ. Guess I'll I won't see it for a while
Thanks for the heads up

OK I started on the kit tonight. I'm starting with the fuse. It's too cool to set aside. The manual starts with the wings
I started by cleaning the entire fuse/cowl with Omni paint solvet to remove any mold release, oil and tape residue. I trimmed the cowl for the wing LE and alligned and glued the outer cowl ring in place. Next was sanding out any unwanted mold joints. After that I lightly primmed the entire fuse with Dupont Automotive Primmer. This lays down real thin and flat and drys very quick. Next was carefully trimming all the required openings with the dremmel. I like to tape off all my cuts with Green automotive masking tape. This not only helps identify the lines but also works as a light barrier for the cutting wheel.
The next step will be intalling the gun hood area and cockpit flooring.

parts and kits can also be ordered from Jose at
www.fliteskin.com I dont know what he has in
stock, but its worth a shout there as well.
Tripp, I would hold off on putting the cockpit floor and
rear cockpit former now. get all the forward formers in first.
I just taped my floor and rear cockpit wall in place on
my D9 I am working on.
on my A8, I epoxied the cockpit parts in...............and then found
out I needed some access to the aft section of the fuse
and was tough to do with the floor in the way
also, dont install the dash hood until later as well. it makes it harder
to paint the inside of the fuse and canopy frame with RLM66. I installed
mine after painting.

also, when you mount the main gear (I have some addendum info from the D9)
I will give you some info to allow for the correct gear angle. Darrells gear is
awsume, and work very well. you want to make sure they sit in the mounts
with the rear most part of your tire as close to the back of the wheel well opening
as possible.
this allows for the proper toe angle when the gear are extended. the mounts on the
A8 are cut out to allow for the Sierra (GO BLUE) gear.

Tripp, Keep the tail as light as possible, mount the elevator servos as far forward as you can. You WILL need nose weight on this bird. Mine needed 2 lbs of lead and all my servos are as far forward as possible. Also, the amount of carbon in the fuselage will give you radio problems. Go with a spread spectrum radio. I had numerous reception issues until I switched to 2.4ghz. No problems at all now. If you plan to use a motor larger than a G45, I highly recommend you pay attention to the elevator linkage. Make sure there is no slop as I have fluttered the tail on mine once already, stripping one elevator servo. Mine is a bit heavy at 30 lbs but flies just fine at that weight.

Cool Todd, Thanks.
I made a little more progress. Started with instaling the for and aft wing mount blocks to the fuse, mounted the wing in the saddle, aligned (pretty much does it on it's own), drilled and installed the blind nuts. Wing fits perfect. Set wing aside Then began on Firewall, forward formers, tank tray and servo rails.
Also fitted and hinged the gun hood but did not install yet only test fit.
The can of primer show is what I use. It's actually Dupont. I may have called it 3M earlier on. This primer is available at auto paint supply shops.
