Default mugen CORR project (sneak peak)

jumping on the CORR short course truck bandwagon
here is just a few pics so far , abit of a sneak peak . still a fair bit off being 100% . i having alot of trouble getting a slayer/slash body in australia because the cars them selfs have just come out ova here so there is no spare parts yet but oh well . i also have to raise the car and put heavier springs in it and might p1ss off the wing mount and make a full alloy roll cage , i cant start that tho till i get the body .

Looks like its gonna be a nice conversion , good thinking on the flipped over T MAXX body mounts . Whose bumpers are those ?

You may want to get one of the Proline bodies , if you get a stock Slayer/Slash body the holes will be pre drilled and wont line up .

cheers mate , should look good when its done , and there savage front and rear bumpers and bash plates . and yeah i would love the pro line versions of the slayer body but its just hard to get them . its gunna cost me $100 to get one brought in from the states. so any body at the moment would be good proline or traxxas.

Check out the body from the Associated SC8, its nicer looking than the Traxxas one.

I dont think the SC8 body will fit , the wheelbase on the SC8 is longer so its not going to line up .

If it did , thats the body I would have done ....

Looks like a nice start! Keep us posted w/ your project.. Ive been wanting to jump on the CORR bandwagon as well just not sure which way to go yet. i have a losi muggy, but it looks like it would be a lot of hassle To fit a SC8 body on it. It is the right length and wheelbase but the arms/cvds/ turnbuckels would all have to be narrower to tuck the tires in the body... It would be cool to convert what we have then spending big coin on new ride!!

i think this was our thinking too...it sure saved me a bundle of cash. if this was not an option, i think i'd blow it all on the sc8...man toss in a litle cash and you could up it to 1/5th scale with a gas engine. ~$700 is a hefty price to pay for a nitro...for me anyways

Yea- thats a hefty price indeed. Not that the SC8 is not worth it, just more then I can spend. I love the 1/8th buggy/ truggy platform of the SC8. But to convert my Muggy Id need to find buggy arms that would fit, since it shares suspenion bits w/ the LST2 that seems like a longshot. It would be easier to start w/ a truggy that had a buggy cousin- but thats not cheap either I may price rollers on ebay and see what looks cheapest. Or maybe just look at the Slayer. They are getting cheaper on ebay.

yeah OFNA has an army of buggies the nice thing about that is that most of the parts are interchangeable. i found this out when i bought my hyper 7 from ebay, it came with three different arms. the rears are from somthing old and the fronts were new hyper 7 and old hyper 7. there were varying shock mount spots but overall it was no issue and functioned just fine. i ended up getting a complete set of arms just to make it even. My buddy has an ultra comp lx1 buggy and i compared his to mine...his has way more ground clearance then mine. If you're looking to build a truck, you might as well build it to tackle nasty terrain[>:]...hehe my iner savage 4.6 SS is comeing out.
