Ever watch Initial D the movie?
If you did you'll remember the part where the father hands the kid driver of the Ae86 a cup of water and tells him "If you spill a drop I'll kick your ass"
He makes his tofu deliveries and drifts with the cup of water and dose not spill a drop.
I say the Cup challenge should consist of a 8 oz cup secured to the top of a 1/10th scale shell with the cup filled half way with water.
The cup should be marked to show the current level before and after the drift.
The drift session should last no more or less than 3min30seconds with no stopping. stopping = -2 points
Driver should demonstrate both tight drifts and sweepers. Driving too slow or not demonstrating abilities = -3 points
Spilling small amounts of water = -5 points
Spilling all or majority of water = -10 points
Total points before challenge = 10 points
This is open to more refinment, but for now thats my rough idea

As for cheating/video editing, we need to implement some kind of challenger appeal system so the juges can review the information and decide if the video was edited or if there was some cheating in case one of the participants believes a winner may have edited video in order to cheat.

the Cup challenge is a good idea... but maybe have the starting pts higher..... if the video is going to be 3min or so... i think the pts should be higher... more like 50pts to start...

thats a good idea, but if it does spill and get on the track, then it's gonna get flung into the car on the next lap. not sure i wanna take that chance with high $$ electronics in the car

Win or loose your ride!
jk
I've done it a few times. Its damn hard on a track that makes you zig zag
I know if you set up the underside of your car like the off road rally guys do your pretty safe against a small puddle
I drove my TT01 in drizzle, coverd the underside in plastic wrap and it worked alright. Just dont let water in your motor
Most recivers and ESC units are sealed well enogh to keep some spray out of your electronics, I wouldnt suggest dunkin them in water though

The water thing is definately a good challenge. I like the idea of a "car show" too. Best looking drifter! A stylish car is my favorite part of drifting.
