Default Finding top dead center and timing engines Video

Posted this in another thread here in the engine conversions but have had a few emails saying I should start a new thread so more people would see it.

Just a small video showing how I find top dead center and time engines for 28 deg.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SydZVV5bCQM

The top dead center methord will work with most engines but not all igntions are made to be sat at 28 deg before top dead center such as DA, 3W ZDZ and a few others, They are made to be set form 3-5 mm before top dead center.

Just Perfect.

The vid was a great idea!

The fact that the old,and proven method of "rocking the boat" so to speak, is just about as accurate as the piston stop method (aprox.+/- 1 degree, maybe closer ?...) in the hands of someone with a measure of mechanical talent, and experience around small engines.(which should include just about anyone watching this thread)

As most prolly already know,CH has this listed as a viable method of setting timing in their setup instructions.

Thanks so much rcextremepower, for setting this subject straight.

Maybe the Mod's could sticky this for awhile, like they talking about doing over in the "Gas engines" forum.

Yeah, the video is great and I'm sure will help a lot of the beginners here in the forum.
