I din't notice any change as far as the break on downlines is concerned.

But I did notise about 10% saving in the electricity consumption.

I built my Xigric C2 following precisely all your instructions (though the build quality does not match yours :-). I use a YS 170 (CDI) for power and so the nose weight is higher than expected.

Unfortunately, my Canalizer literally 'sheared off' (I replicated your method of attaching it), mid-flight in the 13th flight. Must have been a case of too much wind. I don't want to wait for a new one from ZN-Line, so I wanted to ask you: do you have the precise dimensions of the Canalizer? The Root Chord, Tip Chord and angle back from the root point are the essential items, along with the span. I'd be very grateful if you can measure and provide these. Thanks.

I found (with the canalizer on), that the CG did indeed need to be moved back to 200 mm from the TE. In my case, even that was not sufficient - it is now at 190 Mm from the TE. A strange thing happened when the CG went from 200MM to 190 MM from the TE: the model now pulls to the belly in a left to right knife edge, rather than to the canopy! This is without the Canalizer.

Anyhow, I'd like to get the Canalizer back on since the rudder authority with the Canalizer on is a lot better. So any help on the dimensions would be most appreciated.

Hi all,

At the w.c. I asked Mr. Naruke what is the intent of these fences in his ASYULER ETERNAL.
He told me that these fences increase the stability in stormy weather.
I also asked him why he didn't place then in the wings tip and he said that first placed them in the wings tip and then he moved then gradually toward the wings root, finally he found this place as the optimum.

I decided to try these fences in my Xigris.

If anyone knows more about these fences I will be glad to hear.

Thank you for this wonderful build thread - I've picked up several ideas for my new build.

Isaac, with over 500 flights on them, how have you found the Savox servos to perfom? I'm considering them however saw an earlier post that expressed concern about their centering and others about noise. What has been your experience with them? I saw you mentioned that at 40 flights you were happy with them, is that still the case?

I have now over 600 flights on then and still very happy with them.

If I would be stating a new model now, they will be my choice again.

I know that other pilots in Israel have the same experience with them.

Isaac, interesting finding. So basically you see that the new Q80 motor has about the same mAh usage then the C50?

Yep, you may say so, the Hacker Q80-13S P20 with 20 X 10.5 Ulsamer prop, consumes about the same as the Hacker C50 XL 13 or XL 14.

Now I am flying the Q80-13S P20 with APC 20X13 prop with grate results, it is definitely more powerful then with the 20 X 10.5 Ulsamer prop, the RPM is lower and it is quieter.
But the consumption is about 10% more.

Firstly let me tell you that you are the best builder ever......wish you lived in Aus so I can buy your old models.

Just wondering as to why you bother with T CANALISER when the right thrust required is 3.5 degrees.
To me this doesnt make sense when the idea of the T CAN is to stop the prop circulation hiting the rudder and yet 3,5 degrees of right thrust.....
I understant from my Fluid Dynamics studies that a moving object like this small wing will produce certain turbulent airflow and down wash in its wake and this woould make Rudder more effective .......but I think there are easier ways of achieving this...

The T-Canalizer dramatically increases the rudder authority of the model. But for sure, a significant amount of right-thrust is needed. I'm using the same trim as Najary (thanks Najary!), and the right thrust as well as a CG moved back significantly, is required to ensure the model flies well..

Hi all,

At the last word championship the German pilots used 3 blades props.
So I asked my friend Mr. Bruno Schiffter from Germany to provide me some details about that 3 blade props.

Here are some quotes from his emails:

"I have spent a lot of time this spring to try all possible types of 3 blade props. It works at the P20 13s fantastic!
The Q 80 P2013s with two blade prop was the right step; the 3 blade prop at this motor is the next step.
Never have had a better (constant power/ speed) F3A motor before!
At the end of my test flights, Delro-Modelltechnik have made a 3 blade 19x11 (weight 107 grams) with wide blades, which works absolutely great."

"The Delro 19x11 3 blade turns 5950 U/min at 75 Ampere; approx. the same amps like the 2 blade 20x10,5.
But in one flight, you need approx. 400-500 mAh more, compared to the 20x10,5 2 blade, because the characteristic of each 3 blade is another ( that what we want!).
But no problem in running time for each good 4500 mAh Lipo. (P 11 approx. 3500 mAh at low wind and 3900 mAh at high wind conditions)
It is like ever. no advantage without disadvantage.
The disadvantage is that you need more amps in flight, so you need a 4500 mAh battery as minimum.
The advantage is a great, very, very constant power!
Also downside; I think, nobody need a contra rotating drive set anymore!
I am sure, you would like it!"

Yes I have found the same thing with larger 3 blade props on petrol engines. Currently using a 20x12 Mezjlik on a DLE55cc with terrific results. The braking of this prop is really something of note. And it is definitely a more constant speed set-up
