I haven't listed what I have yet - will do in the near future - if you are looking to build I have two Zirolli P40 kits. One is an all wood kit with plans and a Zirolli prop spinner. The second kit is a complete wood kit plus a fiberglass fuselage, cowl, belly pan, LG pods, canopy, side window along with plans for the fiberglass version and a Zirolli prop spinner. $400 for the wood kit plus shipping - $800 for the fiberglass kit plus shipping. If you have any interest, let me know.

Dan

Thumbs up P-40

Hey Dan,
Perfect timing, this is what I have been waiting on. I wish I could buy both from you, unless it's an offer I can't refuse. lol
With that being said, I'm very interested in the fiberglass kit. How much to ship to Cornelius, NC 28031 and how do you take payments?
Thanks again.
Gary

Hey Gary,

I have no idea of what shipping will be until I package the stuff up and take it to be shipped. It was very reasonable when I bought the kits. Its a shame we aren't making a trip in the near future to visit good friends in Troutman NC - seems like they are 30 miles from Cornelius. If you are looking for a deal, I'd take $1200 for both kits and I'll pay for shipping. I've done that before and was shocked how much it cost but I'd do it again. I take PayPal or a check. But I will wait for it to actually clear. I'd really like to have one of these in the air, but since retiring I'm finding I don't have time to do all the things I want to - and I have a basement of planes I just don't get time to fly them. Plus we are planning on downsizing next year, so its time to start slimming down. Let me know if we can work out a deal.

Dan

Thumbs up P-40

Hey Dan,

One quick question about the first wood kit. Is it a short kit or does it have all the wood needed to complete the plane?

Your offer sounds good if you are sure you want to do that. I'll let you know for sure after your reply if I am going to get one or both.

Thanks.

Question P-40

Hey Dan,

After looking at some of the build threads on this plane, could you plese tell me who cut the kits and also about how old they are? I'm sorry for all the questions.

By the way, it's a small world with you having friends here in Troutman. That would have been perfect for me to swing up that way and pick this up.

Thanks.
Gary

Hey Gary,

Here two pictures from each kit. Lots of sheeting and planking strips in each one. I've never pulled all the wood out of a box - I'd never get it back in. Without pulling it all out and have been building for 60 years or so, I'd say these are full kits.

Dan

Gary,

The kit I got with the fiberglass fuselage is from The Aeroplane Works which I believe is no longer in business. If memory serves me correct, Chuck Gill and his son Mace were the guys who made it go around. I believe I bought this about 7-8 years ago. The other kit that had the parts list - I have no idea who cut it. The fellow I bought it from built airplanes for others and himself - scale master class. I remember talking to him - he had his options buying from anyone but said he bought the best he could find - made building a scale master class airplane a bit easier. This one I got around 10 years ago. We will be visiting our friends in Troutman - I just have no idea when.

Dan

Default P-40

Good morning Dan,

Thank you for taking the extra pictures and the clarification. I agree that with everything in the box, it does look like complete kits. With that being said, I think I will only get the kit with the fiberglass fuselage. I doubt I will have the time to build both, especially the other one.
I appreciate your help. Just let me know how you would like to move forward with the purchase.

Thanks again.
Gary

Hey Gary,

Next step for me is to make a cardboard box for the fuselage. Then I can get a price for shipping. I have the material to make a box but time remaining this year is quickly running out. The next week is sort of booked on my end. I hope to get started before other commitments take all my time. My best estimate is that all the stuff will be shipped the first week in January. I'll keep you informed. Let me know if this works for you. Take care.

Smile P-40

Hey Dan,

I know it's a very busy time of year. Take your time. I'm working on another plane right now, so no rush. Whenever it suits you and you get it ready, just let me know.
Again, no need to rush. When you are ready, just give me the paypal info and I'll send it.

Thanks again and if I don't talk with you before, hope you have a Merry Christmas.
