Personally, I have had no problems logging on. However, I have recieved 5 e-mails from friends that are having a terrible time with firewalls and the new RCU. None are willing to drop their firewalls to log on. This needs to be addressed, and soon.
Open another forum to ***** about RCU and get rid of the threads in this one, it's making it hard to find topics that are problems that are already known.

branded - what error do you get when you try to post?
also, who here thinks I won't fix this problem? anyone? anyone? bueller?
BTW...most do NOT seem to have this issue. we are getting new posts every 30 seconds or so still just like old RCU. this seems to be a particular issue on a few computers which have some configuration or security setting that our html and javascript must trigger.
keep it mind there are no applications or even java running on this RCU. posting should be a non event for everyone. regardless we will hunt it down. right now we are fixing a few issues and the bulk of the launch issues are tackled and fixed.

I Tried posting 31 test posts when the beta.rcuniverse was going on the previous two weeks, trying to get the right settings setting for Norton IS 2003.
I was able to get Test #32 to work finally, and it was posted in Test forum then deleted in the new start-up.
RCU listed the steps I took in the Help files, But I still have the Firewall up and running, no other changes from Default settings except those below.
Pop-up Blocking on and ad blocking off in AD BLOCKING under NIS 2003 Status and Settings. (but I don't think the ad blocking needs to be turned off) I may try to undue my settings to see.

I don't have a problem posting but I had to go through google just to get to the site. What's up with that? I got here but had to search for a way as I kept getting a diognostic error even when I used the search through my home page at my isp. I did run spybot search and destroy and it got rid of some things so maybe that did it. Anyone have a clue as to what I might have gotten rid of ? I can program my 8u but when something goes wrong with my computer I need you guy's to help me.

Chances are you were trying to get here through a bookmark or link that is not currently active. If you goto http://rcuniverse.com you will get here everytime.

Thanks Plane Insane, I went back and typed the url in and it sent me to a link that worked but going through that link the site is a ton slower, go figure. I wonder if I set a favorite when I'm in here through google if it will always take me here with the speed it had? I think I'll give it a try and see. At least I can get here, I was about to panic because I couldn't get to the site at all. It will take a bit of getting used to but I already like the few features I have tried and I hope all continues to go well, thanks again.

rockmon,
if you bookmark http://www.rcuniverse.com it should take you to the homepage
we are zeroing in on firewall issues. norton seems to be a PIA on javascript or something even though it is beyond harmless.

Marc,
when i was working the prior weeks on the Norton problems, I mentioned that utopia and adclick and quicksrv were all issues I was having. they showed up in the Norton IS logs as blocked content and referer when trying to use the site. I think that has something to do with the problem, and maybe not.
But the only changes I made to get it to work was to add rcuniverse.com to the Global settings list, and un-checked the defaults and clicked Permit on the 5 settings.
Norton IS 2003 comes with those mantioned above all ready blocked in the default mode, they are in the auto block list.
Another thing is External Modules settings, these may require a permit or Check when loading RCU.
Your site has pop-up windows for posting and color choice and image uploading etc, each time I access one of these I get the little red fist from my pop-up blocker? it thinks these are POP-UP ADS I guess.
Just tryin to help' and you guys are doing a wonderful job" thanxxx
