Get all the sellers info you can, tele# at home/work/cell. You may never need it but"
Look at any Karma as a suggestion only, a few good deals does not mean all will be"
If You ask questions, make sure the answers are what you wanted and not a run-around"
You are the one who ultimately decides to send the money, Knowing It May Be a Bust"
Buyer Beware can't be stressed enough, There islittle help to recover from a bad deal"

That may work if the seller is willing to do it. There are escrow services available to hold payment until item is recieved . I try to use Paypal exclusively there are some redresses available with their service and the seller must provide his correct address and funding source if he is a "Verified member" so he cannot hide behind a user name. If the seller does not take Paypal in my case I don't buy unless it is from an actual bussiness then I use a credit card that has some fruad protection.

I always wondered why someone hasn't insisted on, "You send me the product first and then I'll send you the money".
FYI- You will never know, so you just have to take all of the precautions mentioned above. I have had good and bad online. I just bought a used engine from a fellow club member/ friend who was moving and it turned out to be a total piece of trash.
Just goes to show that you can't ever really tell.

See my post on this form for some things I learned.
An escrow set up by RCU for a fee would be an ideal situation. The mechanics and details could be worked out to prevent defaults on commitments and even quality control. Shipping may pose a problem on big items though. I can see it working.
