Default Icon black "dot"????

I sent you an e-mail about 1/2 hr ago. I didn't see this section until just now. I'm curious why there is a black "dot" in the middle of the envelope icon in my posts? I haven't seen this in any other posts, so what does this mean? Thanks----BladeRunner.

Hi,

I never got the email. Can you send another as a test to make sure system is working ok?

Also, to answer your question:

The basic icons (new and old posts, as well as new and old posts with x number or replies or views) are explained at the bottom of any forumdisplay page that has threads on it, with two caveats:
-The addition of a black dot on any of these icons means you participated in it.
-The addition of a lock means the thread is closed.

OK, fair enough, but, I see no "dot" in any other posts and I don't see that dot in the explanation at the bottom of each page. I will try another e-mail to see if it's working OK-thanks for the reply.-------Bladerunner.

Default Returned mail?

I sent another e-mail and it was returned, the reason? It did not like the return address <[email protected]> ???
What's up? ------BladeRunner.
BTW, that "dot" is still there. ?????

You may misunderstand the 'dot' thing.

It will only show up in threads that you post in, whether today, yesterday, or last week. It will not show up in threads you don't post in. It's a way to let you remember which you've already answered, and which you haven't. As this forum becomes busier and busier, this will become an even nicer feature.

This thread had no dot on the icon before this post. Now that I've posted a dot will appear to remind me that I posted here.

Make sense?

Ah, hah! I found out what was up with the email thing...sympatico.ca used to have massive amounts of spam originate from that domain (not you personally - the isp) so we blocked them as we were getting 20-50 spams per day from them. If you need to contact me since this is a problem use the "pm" (private message) feature of the board and I will get it. Sorry for the confusion!
