My security s/w keeps popping up with the "Web Bug' notification for RCU pages. I don't really understand why any site would use these Web Bugs. Nor do I fully understand fully what a "Web Bug" Is. But the fact that some securtiy s/w flags the existance of these Bugs leaves me feeling slightly uncomfortable.

So I'm wondering, just what are the Bugs used for?

We have no bugs....they are used by some systems to track web ads but our ads don't use these bugs or "beacons" as I call them. At times we have used beacons (bugs) but have not for many months.

Thanks, the descritpion in my s/w was rather vauge. BTW, check your code. U may not have removed them even if u don't use them. I'll just turn off the alert for now.
