Default Making offer

HI, every time I make a offer on RCU for a item and write in the conditions it starts of like this, ------- HI I"ll offer ------- then it gets cut off so the seller never knows what I"m offering. Please help, this has gone on for too long.

I usually just go to "ask the seller a question" and make my offer that way. If my offer is acceptable to the seller, I then go to the site and make a formal offer just by answering the questions. Save all correspondence.

Because of the numerous problems that can occur with offers that are made through the Ask Seller a Question tool, we place a warning to sellers to never accept offers made through that tool. Just for everyone's reference, scammers prefer to use that tool instead of making official offers.

RCPete, don't use ---------- in front of or after your text. Just state what your conditions are. But also make sure the window has fully loaded before you start typing. Depending on your internet connection and server load at the time, it may take 5-10 seconds for the window to fully load.

If you read my entire comment you'll se where I advised him that if his offer was agreeable, then.......go the the official site and make a formal offer.

Bob,
I did read that. But, we place a warning in the message you send to the seller specifically telling them NOT to accept any offers made through that tool.

It's much easier to just use the tools as they are intended instead of creating the extra steps and confusion for some of our newer members.

I agree. I always make any formal offer with the tools as provided on the site. I only use the other to see if what I have he would be willing to consider. SOmetime peeople get confused when they try to make an offer with a trade being part of the equasion. From this ppoint on I'll take your advice and only use the normal tabs for my offers. Thanks for your input and openning my eyes.

HI all, you guys are drifting away from my problem. I have been very active this month in buying from RCU. I have very high speed internet so thats not the problem.
when I make a offer and use the comment box, my comment is cut short, only the first couple of words are printed.
I think the next time i make an offer , I"ll wait a minute for RCU to catch up.

Pete,
What OS and browser are you using. I have to be honest, you are the first person I am aware of who has seen this problem, but we would like to figure out how to resolve it.

What operating system are you using? Windows 98, 2000 or XP? What browser are you using? Netscape, IE 5, IE 6? Do you have any security software installed and if so, what are they?

hello, i have made an offer on a yak 54, and the seller replied back and excepted the offer, we have talked a few times by phone and by internet, i have been trying to find out the best way to pay him and he has tried to find a way to ship from metter, GA to st. george, UT. the deal was 800.00 and split the shipping. it has been about a month trying to get this deal done, and know he does not reply back on the phone calls or the internet. I also received a message from the rc universe saying that i have bought the plane. so i thought that it was a done deal. what can i do to make this still happen i do want the yak 54. the item # that was on the plane was 143634. please help me or give me some ideas on what to do with the deal.

It may be tough if the seller cannot be reached. Another thing to think about, do you really want to send money to someone who has suddenly stopped responding to you? How responsive to you think they will be should the model arrived damaged or in a condition other than they stated if they are not responsive BEFORE they get your money?

Try emailing him one more time and tell him that if he doesn't respond by (insert your own date here), you will consider the deal void and will move on to something else.
