What happened to the Ducted Fan engine sub-category in the Engines & Motors For Sale section?

Rumors of the demise of ducted fans have been greatly exaggerated. Although you do not see a lot of them at major jet events there are still quite a few being flown at club fields.

If you want to get rid of a category that doesn't get used a lot check the number of listings under Diesel Engines.

HI all, I also check ducted fan engines, and now they are gone, why,their is only 1 engine in diesels.

The Ducted Fan Engine category was moved to be a sub group of 2-stroke glow. This was done as all ducted fan engines are also 2-stroke glow engines. This way your ads will receive exposure to all buyers who browse through the 2-stroke glow category, but can still be drilled down to just ducted fan engines of that is all they want to see.

It was much better where it was. All ducted fan engines are not 2-stroke glow engines. Although not very common there are diesel ducted fan engines.

Where you have moved it to is harder to find. Additionally the Ducted Fan Engine category is frequently used to list fans, DF tuned pipes, and mixture controls.

I vote for putting it back where it was and re-naming it "Ducted Fan Engines & Accessories".

We created the Airplanes > Jets > Jet Accessories & Hardware category for fan units, retracts, mixture controls, etc., which are specialty jet items. This was done after several requests by other members who felt their jet specific items should be allowed to be listed in the Airplanes > Jet category, even if the item itself is not an airplane.

You are correct, there have been a few diesel ducted fan engines flown, but they are all either one off engines, or have been converted from existing 2-stroke glow units.

HI, I do not have ducted fan engines as a sub catagory in the 2 stroke section of engines for sale.?

The ducted fan catgory is under 2-Stroke Glow > Airplanes > Ducted Fan Engines
