Here is another scam I am sure. Just one thing puzzles me, it said it came from RCU but I looked ay my ads, and there were no Post. I saved Email don't know where to forward. I am going to block his e-mail from my system. This is a copy of the e-mail, but I would like to forward details from sender shows it came from RCU.

From the email you forwarded to me, it is apparent the scammer sent you an email through the email link in your profile. The scammer did not get your email address from RCUniverse, but instead clicked on the Email link below your name in your profile. Again, he does not have your email, he only sent you an email through our server.

The offending account has been banned and added to the scammers list. An IP ban has also been put in place against them.

Im sorry but i dont get it. What leads you to believe its a scam? Dont get me wrong im not saying its not a scam but how can you tell?

The email sent by the scammer was a typical "I want to buy your item for $2000.00 more than you are asking. Please sell me your item and refund the difference to my personal shipper who will pick up the item from you". You can read all about this and similar scams at www.419eater.com

The email said it was from RCU, but it didn't have the same format as usually, if you are selling it should come from your ad that you have with RCU. I have not and never will answer a email unless it is posted threw my ad, unless I know them, it just one of the ways this sight works good for everyone. If you PM or email them directly you are given your actual email address and opens you and your computer for spam and scams. This is my view maybe not every one else's.

Chadwick, you are absolutely correct. There is no reason for someone to go to your profile page to send you an email when they can post their question straight their your ad.

Payment would be made out to you inform of Cashiers Check.... ok? The Payment that will be issued will include the money for the sales of your item + the shipping cost and my commission. Therefore, there will be an excess funds on the payment. This is so because my client insisted to make the whole payment out at once. I would have liked to handle the payment aspect myself but I am presently out of town handling a project hence i am requesting your assistance.

All you just need to do is to deposit the Cashiers Check and when the funds clear from your bank, deduct the funds for your item. And the excess funds OR any difference in the payment you are to wire to my shipper via western union money transfer OR bank account that will be provided to you before you receive payment.


I would like to state clearly that this item will be shipped Abroad and I have a shipper who I will designate to pick up the item for shipment at the item location. So you not going to be bothered with any shipping. all shipping duties and taxes will be handled by my shipper when he comes around for pick.


I will be willing to entertain more of your questions that might arise . I must mention to you that your details shall be forwarded to my client for immediate payment issuance as soon as I receive your full names with which payment will be made out and the mailing address to mail payment.

SomeGuy, When you see a link in an e-mail like this.

That ask for information [>:] is probly 99% a scam[:@].

Never click on a link in an e-mail unless you know the person. Like chadwick stated in his reply.

I get a lot of spoof or fish e-mails in my e-mail in-box from scammers claiming they bought something from me on ebay or paypal.
I always check my mail box at the site where the spoof e-mail says it came from.
