This sounded like a nice idea but I did not find it helpful. The biggest problem is that the threads are not sorted by forum so that it is not possible to scan quickly a group of related messages and pick those of interest. I can work more quickly using the standard view.

Also, there is no indication of the location of the thread starter and that can be an important factor in deciding on a response. A good example of this is the fellow who asked about using his car radio on a plane and being located in Australia the appropriate answer for US modelers does not apply.

The custom forum feature should work just as the standard version of RCU. The only difference is that you get to choose which forums will be displayed. Keep in mind, that's forums... not threads. You still would have to go into MyRCU to view your subscribed threads, in which case they would be organized based on when you subscribed to the threads.

Location has always been up to each person on RCU, that hasn't changed. If they want to post their location they may... if not, we don't make them.
