Default Many offers??

I am new to this selling stuff in the Marketplace and I was wondering what the protocall was. I offered a very good buy to the marketplace on a kit. What are my obligations? The offers roll in several at a time. Am I obligated to take the very first offer if it meets the asking parameters, or can I accept a better offer that comes in second. Do I have a choice to accept other offers if I so choose. Using the offer/accept process that marks the item sold. I have someone who is disgruntled because a better offer came in. He was first but I didn't mark the item sold to him because he wished for me to investigate the shipping cost. I counter offered the first person who offered with the higher cost of the second bid before I committed. He chose to decline and back out. He is now mad at me. In the process, the first person asked me to give him the shipping cost to him and I was in process of that, but he did not committ to a purchase yet. So what I want to know is what is the protocall for multiple offers for something one has advertised for sale here.

It's pretty much up to you as the seller to decide who and when and why. If you have 1 item then you are correct, once you and a buyer have come to terms then the offer can be accepted and it'll be marked "sold" to the buyer you select.

It may make some offerers mad , but is really up to you. Some buyers are speedy, others don't get a chance to log in very often. Sellers can be the same way so it is hard to nail down policy. My policy is to be quite firm on price , and sell to first offer that can agree to my ship/payment terms.

Hope this helps you out some.

The seller has the ultimate say in which offer he wishes to accept and for what reason. However, all RCU ads should be treated as a classified, not an auction. It would not be acceptable to ask buyers to out bid each other in an effort to drive up the price. Whatever your stated asking price, that is what you are expected to sell the item for. That does not mean you have to accept the first full price offer, but instead means that if you have the price stated as $50.00, you will sell it for that amount and not instead tell someone you received an offer for $70.00 and if they would like to buy the item, they will have to match or better that amount.

Generally speaking, with all of the above in consideration, once you start working with a buyer, you should continue working with that person either to a full accepted offer or them backing out before you engage another buyer who made a later offer.

Okay, that clears things up a bit... So in the future, I can accept any of the offers come first or last only not counter offer any of them for a higher bid should it come through even though they are first. Does that sum it up? No bidding war, but allowed to accept any of the offers No matter what reason, I as the buyer own that right.?
