Default Bumping Accepted Practice?

My younger son just recently got into R/C cars. Personally, I have no interest except where he is concerned. For that reason, I have been scanning the R/C Cars section For Sale forum over the past few days. It seems like I keep looking at the same ads every morning because the posters use "bump" to "ttt" to bump their ads. This seems to be accepted practice. It is very common in this particular section. Why is it accepted practice in this section but is frowned on in all the other sections?

Good question - it should not be allowed. Perhaps the CAR Forum Moderators aren't watching the forum closely.

Marc - whats up with this?

You're right Howard, that forum has been neglected. I have since added three moderators to help keep things tidy in response to your inquiry. Thanks for letting me know.

Default Bumping Accepted Practice?

Over the past few days, it has become so much easier to navigate the want ads. I appreciate the efforts of the admins, especially i8tweety and that other old guy . I know I have gotten to be a pain in the butt with my notifications but this quickly became a pet peeve of mine as I tried to wade through the same ads everytime I went to the want ads. I look forward to the new anti-bump software.

Thanks, guys.

After a couple of weeks, bumping is back to normal. I don't have time to wade through all the bumps so I guess my son will have to do that on his own or just go somewhere else if he wants to buy something.

Howard, I went through all of the car FS forums tonight cleaning out bumps from the last week. After a couple hours of looking through, I'd found and removed 6 bumps. There were a few more, but the following replies made it irrelevent to remove them.
