04-11-2015 11:15 PM - permalinkThanks Tom , I'll look for the link on Monday.
I purchased this SMOKE pump recently to use in my 540 edge but have changed my mind. do you think that I can use this for a FUEL pump??
I don't plan on using the automatic starter .I hope that I won't have any problems starting the 135 manually.
Thanks.
For some reason, Rcuniverse won't send me an automatic notification email when you have replied to these messages!? If it's ok or easier my email is
[email protected]
Thank you.
I can hardly wait to get that kolm 135 and begin installing it in the crossfire.
I was planning on making my engine cowel open and assesible on both left and right sides as you did with your spit il150 combo.
did you fly with these to fly with these two "doors"open to see how COOL the engine temp Could be and then aim to try and "keep" this temp with doors finally closed- to check cooling baffles in flight?? -
04-10-2015 09:50 AM - permalinkDo you recommend the same retracts that are recommended for the spit and available through CARF?
Air or electric? Which do you recommend. I would probably want the ones that are the easiest to install. A perfect fit :-))
What about the cog ? With the steering tail wheel, and the kolm135, will I need to add weight anywhere do you think? -
04-10-2015 09:49 AM - permalinkWow ! Awesome. THANK YOU! Yes please add me to drop box. How do I view all your pictures?
I am calling götz today and ordering the spit kit- I will order the steering rail wheel from him also. Please send me a link for the fuel pump. I want to purchase the correct one. I'm not sure what servos to order- can you recommend?
I am definitely wanting to clip wings - not sure exactly where or how- I'll have to wait and see.
Lastly , do you think I will need the ignition box ? To make install easier.
Basically I WANT everything that you RECOMMEND . Please
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP- I am so excited to become a member of the brotherhood and especially to be a kolm pilot!! -
04-09-2015 07:30 PM - permalinkThanks tom.
Yes I'm about to order the spitfire from Götz in USA. I am VERY concerned with cooling and mounting kolm135. Could you PLEASE send me all pictures that you have regarding this. [email protected]
Also do you recommend steering tail wheel?
Will I need fuel pump(I have talked to tom Bogner and he uses fuel pump.
I will need motor mounting template from kolm for spitfire- does this ensure success with cooling problem? Thank you so very much for your time.
I want to also use telemetry for temp and rpms yes or no ? -
03-29-2015 08:37 PM - permalinkHey tom,it's Johnny again. Hey, this will be my first CARF warbird, would you recommend the P 51 or the Spitfire for a first,as far as building difficulty in mounting the il135engine,or which would be easier to fly . Thanks, Johnny by the way I loved your YouTube video you're an awesome pilot and builder

03-29-2015 08:06 PM - permalinkHello Tom my name is Johnny I live in Houston Texas USA.I am so excited I am about to purchase a car for Spitfire and I'm interested in the IL 135 kolm engine- I have seen several videos posted on YouTube I'm not sure if they're yours there's one in particular I like it it's there clipped wings Spitfire that also has the il 135.
I would very much appreciate to find someone who has built this model who could give me a few pointers to avoid any pitfalls that you may have encountered.particularly I am concerned with strengthening the model so that he could handle the Il135 and also very concerned about cooling issues. I would like to go with electric retracts I think which would you recommend air or electric??
What servos would you use do you think hitec 645 MG would be sufficient??
So many questions I want to do this right but I know I'm going to need some help.thank you so much for your time Johnny
