Did not know this section existed! I just put together my son's and I Flash rocket kit. Picked up the recommended A8-3 Motors for it. I forgot I needed the the wadding paper. is there something else I can use as a substatute? I can't wait to get this in the air!

A couple things you can use... Party streamers or crepe paper are flame retardant. You can pick that kind of stuff up about anywhere. Quest wadding is a crepe paper. Cellulose wall insulation that you can pick up at Home Depot/Lowes works too. And so do lettuce leaves! Whatever you use, don't pack it so full that the ejection charge won't push it out. All you need is a good seal to keep the hot gas away from the recovery system. Lots of information is available.

Wow lettuce! That is crazy. Thanks for the info. Can't wait to get this up in the air. My son is extremly excited too! Will try and get a video of it's maiden voyage.

Did you not get wadding with the engines? You should've gotten igniters and endplugs with them too.

Only some versions of the 3-packs have wadding included. The 3-packs that were available at Toys R Us, Walmart, Target and some others included the wadding. Most packages available at hobby stores including Michaels and Hobby Lobby don't...

Wally world and target are much cheaper than anywhere I've found so far.

wally world and target in maine doesn't sell rockets and motors anymore.

Walmart and Target will no longer carry the Estes stuff. Target closed out two or so years ago, and Walmart started last year, not too long before Hobbico bought Estes. The flight packs (with wadding) are still at Toys R Us. At least last time Iwas there.
