Next came the wrap for the upper first stage, interstage and lower second stage area. This is simply applied as one piece.

The beginning of scratch building the aft interstage using 0.030 sheet styrene for the base.

These are found on the lower section of the fin shrouds. I believe they act as diversionary air damns. Two on each shroud.

These connectors and fill and drain valves go down at the bottom of the first stage.

Vents were penciled in then drilled out on the aft interstage.

I'm using Flite Metal on the two APS units. I'll see how this works before determining whether or not I'll switch to paint instead.

I used metal etched and resin parts from Oz Mods and Shapeways. Shapeways did the lower radiator panels, everything else is from Oz Mods.

The resin piece that came with the kit was undersized so I created my own from balsa.

This was undersized by 40%. Not happy with the quality from the manufacturer, especially when you've shelled out $450.00 for this. I expect better.
