MRC 969
I noticed my mrc 969 has begun to make a noise when the fan starts...does anyone know if this is the beginning of the end. Also I'm debating getting a 977 but I'm wondering if it also will not retain data at the end of a charge or discharge cycle.

RE: MRC 969
Welcome to RCU.
I've heard a lot of those small fans make noise especially when cold. I've also had numerous opnes go bad on various chargers and it may or may not last a long time yet. The 977 will retain the charge data only during the trickle charge just like the 969.
MRC probably still offers the exchange program where you send in your old 969 and they will upgrade you to a brand new 977 for under $50. Tim can verify the exact cost. He is the MRC rep.
