Hello,<div></div><div>I recently bought a GoPro video camera and now I was looking for a solution to shoot some video from a rc helicopter.</div><div></div><div>I found this one: http://www.helipal.com/storm-drone-f...tform-rtf.html (around 400 $) but i was wondering what the price would be if i make one from scratch, because landing this drone looks difficult when the camera is hanging underneat.</div><div></div><div>I found this video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...;v=X6svIcef5lQ but I have no Idea what the price is of this homemade quadcopter.</div><div></div><div>So my question is, is it possible to make a quadcopter with a 400-500$ budget that is strong enough to lift my gopro and is moreless stable to shoot video ?</div><div></div><div>If it is not possible then I don't have to read more about helicopters, if it is possible, I guess it will be a long way to make something, I have zero, nada experience with rc choppers :l</div><div></div><div>Any input is appreciated

You can build the platform for around $50. Hobbyking has one aerial lift platform for about $35 and they also have a camera mount for under $20. Four motors and 4 ESCs will run you about $150, $29 for the FCC and $20 for props. If you already have radio gear you can use that or buy Turnigy for $70 and then lipo and charger. You can do it all for under $400.

- Bumblebee kit with 4 motors and 4 ESCs = $210
- KK2 Controller = $30
- 4 ESCs (the ones from the kit were ultra pwm) = $50
- ESC board = $7
- 4 Servo Leads = $5
Total = $302
I already had lipos, but if you don't a 3s is about $20 and a 4s about $25
My GoPro is the motorsports edition and the curved mounts fit perfectly on top of the bubmblebee's top cover. Only thing is that you will see the two front props vs. mounting it in the bottom. Next flight I'm going to mount one of the flat mounts to the battery...no special housing needed. With 4s this quadcopter moves with authority...probably a little too fast for video, it's smoother with 3s.
I'm also building a smaller version 330 size and so far I've spent about $150 and it will also lift the GoPro. All components from China...longer waiting time but good stuff.

Well, I don't know what kind of camera you want, but the one with the lowest price I can find is 808, only about USD10.
