Default Basic PROPELLER questions-( I have dji fw450)

I have the basic FW450 setup:
Pulse 3SC 3700 battery
standard DJI 9443 self tightening props

I want to go with a bigger battery, either a larger 3SC or a 4SC.
I am assuming the prop numbers are size and pitch. How does a different pitch affect the
flight of a quad, and what do the pitch numbers mean? Can, or should I go to a 10" prop?

thanks, cameracamel in Mesa, AZ

With a larger battery the things to consider are, whether the motors and ESCs can handle the extra voltage, whether the battery can provide the current needed and the weight. It could get to a point where you get less flight time with a bigger battery.
Propeller Pitch is how far the prop would move in one revolution link explains it.

With larger props you need to consider whether or not the motors can turn them and whether you have the clearance to mount them

Thanks, RC. I am running 30 amp esc's, and dji 2212/920kv motors.
