Default MVVS .77 muffler

I have an MVVS .77 and want to use a standard or regular muffler. The #3255 muffler from MVVS is supposed to be for the .61, .77 and .91 but it sure looks small for such large displacement engines. How well will it work for the .77? I have a muffler for an O.S. Max .61SF that is much larger in volume and fits the bolt pattern. What do you think?

Default RE: MVVS .77 muffler

David,

If the OS silencer is a bolt-on (rather than a bolt-through, like the FX), it should work.
You will have to take your engine for a walk around town, to obtain the correct metric bolts, so the OS silencer could be bolted on.

Make sure the gas passage in the silencer is not smaller than the engine's stack, as it can impair flow.

The #3255 works very well with all MVVS medium engines. I haven't seen any effect of its small volume, as you say.
It comes with the proper bolts...
